Stevie Ray Vaughan - Life By The Drop Lyrics
Hello there, my old friend
Not so long ago it was til the end
We played outside in the pouring rain
On our way up the road we started over again
my mind is aching,' Lord it won't stop
That's how it happens living life by the drop
Up and down the road in our worn down shoes
Talking about good things and singing the blues
you went your way and I stayed behind
We both knew it was just a matter of time
You're living our dream oh you on top
my mind is aching,' Lord it won't stop
No wasted time, we're alive today
Churning up the past, there's no easier way
Time's been between us, a means to an end
God it's good to be here walking together my friend
We're living our dreams
my mind's stopped aching,'
That's how it happened living life by the drop
That's how it happened living life by the drop
That's how it happened living life by the drop

My buddy Erich M. & I went to see this Stevie Ray at Santa Cruz High School Auditorium in 1976... There was so few people Erich & I were leaning on the Stage Front... I could have reached out and touched Stevie's Boot! I wish I hadn't been so Tanked I would have had better memories but I do remember how Powerful His Presence Was! God Bless Him & May He have Eternal Peace!
Thank You Stevie Ray! Forever!
Your Friend... J.D. Olson
Enjoy every drop gone but his Spirit will never leave us 🇺🇸🎼🎶🎵...
Damn 🚁...
Often folks talk about who's the greatest guitar player who ever lived and Stevie Ray Vaughan has to come to mind. Now I'm aware that it would be impossible to name anyone as the best ever given the many different styles and types of players but in more than a few categories Stevie Ray would be close to the top. Just watching him play while listening is a unbelievably marvelous. His hands are so fast it's almost impossible to follow them. It's hard to imagine had he not died such an untimely death how much more great music this man would have written and played for everyone to enjoy. Even in his relatively short career he put out a vast amount of music. R.I.P. Stevie Ray Vaughan we all miss you.
Miss you.
This man is a rock n roll and blue's legend..As humble as he could be..a Sensational guitar player..RIP..Stevie Ray Vaughan
Brotherly bond, alcohol, sobriety, reconnection, simplicity, love...
Beautiful magic was SRV...
I saw Stevie play Pier 84 on the Hudson NYC back in the mid 80s. It was sprinkling rain at the start of the Show, and was pouring rain by 30 minutes in, and they threw open the exit gates, and half the people left, but Stevie and I stuck it out. He played for well over an hour, rain pouring, that feather in his hat was flat, we were all soared, but he played on. Hands down the best, most memorable concert experience of my life. Oh yeah, I was out side listening at the start and ran in when they threw open the gates, Didn't pay a dime for the best rock-blues show I ever saw. That's Stevie to me. Now he's jamming in Rock & Roll heaven RIP my friend! =).
I smokt a jount. And seen this man 2 woooo good stuff
Doyle Bramhall wrote this for Stevie. It's about recovering from their demons.

Greatness, beautiful song. You are an American Treasure. SRV.
Your fire burned so bright that you rivaled the sun. You were happy at last, but God decided that life on Earth wasn't good enough for you. You live in our hearts, and we were so fortunate to have shared some time here with you. God Bless you, and keep you, until we meet over the rainbow, Stevie Ray Vaughn.

My Man Stevie Ray Vaughan. 😊😊😊👍👍👍
Yes man.....i,m here !
This is my go-to tune when I'm down or hurtin'. I play it on loop/repeat for . . . a while. Why do all of these great musicians keep dying in aircraft flown in Podunk, USA? Always in a cow pasture in the middle of nowhere or a swamp, due to pilot error. Holly, Valens, The Bopper, Skynyrd, Will Rogers, Ricky Nelson, Otis Redding, etc., etc., etc. And that's a short list from memory. A number of well-knowns/celebs, as well. smh
This guy can make any wondering Texan home sick.
Miss you Stevie !!!!!!!!!!
Whos here because of marty music?

Well I guess I'll go listen to the fabulous thunderbirds and .38 special to get my mind off of asking why does God always take the good ones.
This song is true for me and others. I saw SRV in a venue that held about 5,000 back in 90 and he played this song.. I was sober than and still am by the Grace of God. Stevie was sober also when he left us. Thanks for this excellent tune about booze and life. We miss you !!!!!!

The flame that burns twice as bright burns half as long...
Thank you Stevie for all the great and classic music.
This song is about the struggles of drug and alcohol addiction, at least it is in my interpretation of it. I can't listen to this song without crying, because my entire family have struggled with depression and addiction issues and they all died fighting their illnesses. I'm the last living member of my immediate family and I too struggle with severe alcoholism. This song speaks to me on so many levels, I love it.
