Stevie Nicks - Blue Denim Lyrics
I saw him the other day
I saw him again... yesterday
I wonder if I'll ever see him again
He reminded me of Blue Denim
Blue-gray eyes... they change with the color...
Change with the sun... they run with the sight
They change with the wind... but they're always bright
Bright eyes... Blue Denim
Bright eyes... Blue Denim
I knew him another way
I knew him another day
In some ways he'd forgotten me
In many ways he got to me
I turned away... it could never be
I never thought he could walk away
But I lost him again... yesterday
[Chorus]
Understanding me... understanding you
Is not an easy thing to do
Understanding me... and understanding you
Is not an easy thing to do
And I will never forget...
The last time I saw you
Like a photograph... so rare
Like a painting
No I will never forget...
The last time I saw you
Never to be... not you... not me
No... no...
[Chorus]
So I'm going away for a little while
To remember how to feel
And if I find the answer...
I promise you... I'll come back and get you
I'll come back and get you
I'll come back and get you

Stevie Nicks Blue Denim Comments
The only good song off the entire Street Angel album
No I don’t think so. I loved the entire album.
I know Stevie disowns the final mix of this album and this was written and recorded during a low period in her life, but this song is as good as anything she has ever done. Her vocals sound amazing, the music is phenomenal.
what so beauty-full-voice
Sweet Stevie -A Queen!
Makes me sad that Street Angel apparently sold poorly in 1994 maybe because of grunge being at its peak. The album has a more bluesy guitar rock vibe. I feel like all Stevie's songs are a window into her soul though, she's an amazing songwriter
Our camcorder operator/video editor is constantly inspired by Stevie Nicks' music. People have given him grief for it for years. Just the other day, he was threatened and he just created a video in six hours saying, "Success is the best revenge." Rick is Autistic and a bit of an eccentric, but he's good. Real good. Thanks to Stevie Nicks.
Love this song
She has outdone herself once more and to the future , It's good to hear you singing pretty Lady
Love this song. As my daughter, Dad, Grand kids all have blue eyes. Not me hazel.

Bright Eyes... Blue Denim. A majestic song by the talented and lovely Stevie Nicks.
I love this song because I have grey eyes.
I love you Stevie. I know you arent proud of this album but I love it just like all your music. You are a queen
cat lady this is one of my favorites of hers.
Was she writing this song about... Joe Walsh? She mentioned that he was the love of her life... She said they could not be together... it could never be... because they were both drug addicts at the time... She left him... or he left her... to save their lives from dying from drug use... and their lives at the time... were unstable and pretty messed up. I'm glad she stopped using illegal drugs & saved herself from dying of the admitted serious drug addiction problem she said she had and doesn't have now. She said she took herself to Betty Ford clinic to get clean & stop using the drugs she used because a doctor told her that the cocaine she used made a hole in her nasal cavity and her brain was exposed. The physician told Stevie she would die if she didn't stop using and taking cocaine and other drugs. Thank GOD Stevie listened to this physician & took herself, she says, to Betty Ford clinic to get herself off of drugs & to clean up her life!
I wrote to her and asked Stevie to read the Holy Bible so she could know & love and follow & obey GOD Jesus SAVIOR . I told her that she could bring many people to GOD Jesus Christ the LORD if she would sing and write Christian music about GOD the Lord Jesus Christ & God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
Stevie said she wrote this song about Lindsey Buckingham. I read somewhere that she was inspired to write "Blue Denim" when Fleetwood Mac reunited to perform at Bill Clinton's 1993 Inaugural Ball. She hadn't seen or talked to Lindsey in years, and I guess he was pretty cold toward her, but that didn't keep her from feeling strong emotions for him.
I think Stevie has always been in love with Lindsey and has probably always secretly hoped they would get back together. Now that Lindsey is happily married with children -- and has been fired from Fleetwood Mac -- that's unlikely to happen.
Starla Lovewell did she ever get back to you?

such a great song! I know she is solo here but this could have easily gone very much on a Fleetwood Mac album :-)
All of Stevies Songs are Magnificent Works of Art.

I Love Stevie More Than Life, She is My Goddess !
I think Stevie's solo work is the best
