Steven Wilson - The Unquiet Grave Lyrics
Cold blows the wind to my true love,
And gently drops the rain.
I've never had but one true love,
And in green-wood he lies slain.
As any young girl may.
I'll sit and mourn all on his grave,
For twelve months and a day.
And when twelve months and a day was passed,
The ghost did rise and speak,
"Why sittest thou all on my grave
And will not let me sleep?"
Go fetch me water, my true love,
Go fetch me milk from a fair maid's breast
That young man has never known.
How oft on yonder grave, my true love,
Where we were want to walk.
The fairest flower that I ever saw
Has withered to my stalk.
When will we meet again, sweetheart,
When shall we meet again?
When the autumn leaves that fall from the trees
Are green and spring again.

Steven Wilson The Unquiet Grave Comments
Best version... the music is best of all!!!
This is an excellent version. The first version I ever heard was on the first Gryphon album 1973.
... I apologize for what I'm about to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHc288IPFzk
In all seriousness, that is one of the most haunting and effective vocal effects I think I've ever heard.
Certainly spooky. My kind of music. Better than any of the other remakes I've heard of this song.
masterpiece
Someone should take this and edit it into Anesthetize.
yes please
love it.
Steven Wilson - The Unquiet Grave can be found on Cover Version IV
i hear some Fear Of A Blank Planet in the ambient :)
Pretty sure there's a box set with all the cover version singles. They can be hard to come by nowadays though.
It's out of stock on the BurningShed store but hopefully there will be a rerelease at some point.
After listening to other versions of this song, I really appreciate what Steven Wilson has done with it.
beautiful
Masterpiece
The beginning totally reminds me of the ending to Anesthetize btw! And I saw you had written in the description where it was from, sorry for not paying attention.
dude your profile picture is creepy.
Oh, I don't have any of them :/ I'll be sure to buy it :D
It's a cover Steven made on a traditional song. You can find it on one of the cover albums Steven Made.Cover Version IV (2006)
Is this an orphan track? Or bonus? Why haven't I heard of this?
The roots of Storm Corrosion?
