I turn to this song often as I face my personal persecution. I feel defeated, unwanted and my dreams are ending in nightmare. I want to give up but I continue because of God. Though no one really knows or cares I have God - my light, my shield, my friend as I fight for life. How can I compare my pain, my grief, my suffering to that of Christ = and yet He still loves me.
This song goes out to all my friends who gave to their country in Desert Storm. Their bravery and dedication was and always will much appreciated. Thankfully, they all made it through!

It is such a powerful song; it really moves me. It is truly what God is and what we should be for one another. I understand it is actually a song that was made for a wedding which when you listen to the words you can see what God is to the bride and groom and what they should be to each other. It is the song I sang at a friend's wedding (after a personal tragedy I had not sung for years).
