What's more to this life is to know God through Jesus Christ and do his will. His collective calling for us is to live for others and lead others to repentance.

@John Reed sometimes our past won't let us change. And the people we have been around forever can't handle the change in us. Mine couldn't except the person i really was.

@John Reed i couldn't do anything different because it was the hand of God moving in my life, i just had to surrender and let go and give him complete control of my life.

Couldn't be more true in this moment; I was sitting there on break thinking how quickly the work day had melted away, and then it it hit me: WHAT HAVE I ACCOMPLISHED? I realized then that this shallow life I had built for myself was futile and that my job in and of itself had no bearings on my eternity or anyone else's for that matter; I'm working to survive in order to serve the Lord and others while I'm here.

I think everyone who heard this song and is moved by it should share it with someone who is worn down by this life.

This was the first of his songs I ever heard. It was at a time when I quit using drugs and was turning back to Christ. I had gone through a terrible childhood and many dark memories I battle with even today. Him and various other Christian singers have helped me through bad times with my CPTSD. I didn't even know I had PTSD until a couple years ago. This last year I discovered it was CPTSD. So many tears from hearing this and Place in This World among various other encouraging songs played a great role in me not returning to drugs and even not being a total mess now. Praise God for people like this to sing these heart felt songs.

Tim-Its hard sometimes. God is still here and isn't going anywhere. It is hard to feel his presence sometimes because its a slow drift. You wake up one day and wonder how far you have moved away from the center of His Divine presence. This happened to me. It took time to find my way back. i began to focus less on what I was dealing with-and it opened my eyes to the lives around me that were dealing with similar issues and much more. The Lord never promised a smooth ride. Quite the contrary. We have ultimate victory in Him-but it comes with a price. But Jesus PAID that price. Our response is to Trust, Believe and ACT on it-even through our pain, and our tears, and our own heartaches-YES. It can be done. I am a witness to His promises.

hi tim. your comment is a year old, but i just now saw it. i hope your life is doing okay. i suffer from severe depression and can understand, even with Jesus, it can be difficult. i go thru my ups and downs a lot. i love this song, its very uplifting. i find often that the hardest person to forgive is truly myself. yet just remember this, hold on, it ll pass. also, have you ever heard or seen mark lowry? if not, please google him, his comedy and songs are also a great blessing. he wrote mary did you know but to me his best song is "this too shall pass". i hope this helps. take care

Yes, faith in Jesus Christ alone is how we find more to this life! Jesus said in The Bible that "He has come to bring us more to this life". Jesus wants us to live life more abundantly. It is up to us to choose to allow His Spirit to live and flow through us each day. It is my choice to let Him give me more to this life, each and every day...I hope that is your choice also! I have sung this song many, many times, but it as never been more powerful than now in this time of personal crisis. W/o my unshakable faith in God and the love of my family, I shudder to think of where I might be. Each day has been hard since my wife and kids left me. The pain has often been too much to bear. But I cried out to Him and He has held His child in one piece; cracked and broken but still together in HIs mighty hand. I pray for solice, wisdom, and strength to make it one more day.
