Steve Winwood - Pearly Queen Lyrics
I bought a sequined suit from a pearly queen
And she could drink more wine than I'd ever seen
She had some gypsies' blood flowing through her feet
And when the time was right she said that I would meet
My destiny
I traveled round the world to find the sun
I couldn't stop myself from having fun
And then one day I met an Indian girl
And she made me forget this troubled world
We're living in
I had a strange dream. In my hair
I saw a pearly queen lying there
And all around her feet flowers bloomed
But they were made of silk and sequins two by two

Steve Winwood Pearly Queen Comments
Oh yeeeeaaah!!!!! Clapton is God.... Winwood.... Tambien!!!!
Utterly superb - two masters but Clapton in particular is completely mind blowing here. Still loving in 2019 👍🍺
How could only 75,000 people watch this? There isn’t better music, 2 rock and soul Gods with an incredible chemistry and a soul singer master, a white kid from England. This is music! Where are you people?
Winwood and Clapton should have played together more. So natural with each other like brothers.
Better than the recording.
the master of the pentatonic scale . although he is a fantastic all round musician at home in many styles Eric C is most happy playing the music he grew up with as a kid .. he has the blues in his veins.
Special....
When these two play together you are hearing the absolute best in blues, R&B and rock.
Clapton is god
Andy Summers Eric Johnson and Joe Satriani are "Gods"!

Oh Yeah.... great tune.....
of course awesome
wow, friggin awesome!
Clapton is throwing a huge compliment to Winwood; he played that first improv almost note-for-note from the album.
Leon, man, I'm posting it right now at The Jazz and R & B Café on Facebook.
we be gettin' some "hits"
+Tim Shullberg WHY??? Steve Winwood is not a guitar maestro like Clapton, but Winwood is a legend (and he does pretty well in this concert (on his Strat & Telecaster to keep up with Clapton) to extraordinary proportions. If you cared to remember even Jimi Hendrix considered Steve Winwood as one of the best and wanted Steve Winwood in his band. Steve's Hammond organ rifts on Voodoo Child from the 1968 recording of Jimi's 'Electric Ladyland' 'Track 4' are legendary this was recorded at the Record Plant in New York City after a late night jam session at 3am with Hendrix, Experience drummer Mitch Mitchell, organist Steve Winwood, and bassist Jack Casady, Steve's Hammond work is a freakish performance and absolutely legendary for its day!!!
"why?" what ??
I said that Clapton complimented Winwood by playing most of the original solo (which might have been inspired BY Clapton).
Winwood is certainly no slouch on the guitar, I agree.
@Tim Shullberg ok, I fully agree, I've always love Clapton and Winwood since their 'Blind Faith ' days in 1968 when I first heard them and it knocked me out, especially Winwood's voice and Hammond playing which has always been his extraordinary traits.
this video should have more visits, what shit people hear today? Clapton and Winwood are showing us the fucking truth of the universe, and this video only have been 3000 people = $
