Steve Wariner - The Tips Of My Fingers Lyrics

I reached out my arms and I touched you
With soft words I whispered your name
I held your love on the tips of my fingers
But that was as close as I came.

My eyes had a vision of sweet lips
Yielding beneath my command
I held you right on the tips of my fingers
But I let you slip right thru my hands.
Yes, I let you slip right thru my hands.

Somebody took you when I wasn't looking
I should have known from the start
It's a long, long way from the tips of my fingers
To the love hidden deep in your heart.
To the love hidden deep in your heart.

Somebody took you when I wasn't looking
I should have known from the start
It's a long, long way from the tips of my fingers
To the love hidden deep in your heart.
To the love hidden deep in your heart.

I held your love on the tips of my fingers
But I let you slip right thru my hands.
Yes, I let you slip right thru my hands.

I held your love on the tips of my fingers...

"The Tip of My Fingers," also titled "The Tips of My Fingers," is a song written and originally recorded by American country music singer Bill Anderson. First included on his 1962 album Bill Anderson Sings Country Heart Songs, the song was a Top Ten country single for him in 1960.

I have always been a fan and will be forever, the whole world has enjoyed your talent , and I for one do truly enjoy your music! Hopefully I will learn this song in the future and do a cover on it..... I could never do it justice, my greatest hope is ......I hope they can recognized it LOL! Be wishes to you and yours.... Be safe ! Oh I almost forgot..... most of the Country music songs these days say the same ol thing..... "lets drive my truck thru this one horse town and go down to the river and drink beer with the tail gate down" they really suck these days !

I love this song. This was back when country music was great. This ''music'' today aint country, its crap!

    1.... ....

That's why I stick to old country music. Love Jim Reeves, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, Randy Travis, Keith Whitley... The sadder the song the better

    1.... ....

@Kitty Kat Do you like Dwight Yoakam??

    1.... ....

@Chef Mime Written by Bill Anderson 1960

@Chef Mime I'm sure that Steve Wariner got the rights to record it and the video.

  21. K.... K....

Omw you sing this song beautifully ❤😍

    K.... K....

The original from Roy Clark was much better

  22. J.... N....

This has always been one of my favorite Steve Wariner recordings! When you combine Steve with Whispering Bill's song with Vince Gill singing harmonies, it seriously would be hard to get any better!!! I'm not sure that I've ever seen the video, though. It fits the song perfectly. Thanks so much for the post!!

    J.... N....

Too bad he stole it from Roy Clark... amazing what technology from Les Paul and song writer Roy Clark can create...oh and Steve.
