Steve Earle - Until The Day I Die Lyrics
Back in the hills when we were only kids
Love shined like a diamond in your eyes
I swore I'd never hurt you - then I did
Now I'm all alone with all my lies
I promised that I'd never be untrue
The only promise that I didn't break
Was to love you until the day I die
I wish I'd never seen those city lights
A sight for a country boy to see
For every one that you see shinin' bright
Another is burnin' out like me
I wouldn't listen though you told me dear
I couldn't see the lie
But all the same I still love you tonight
They built this prison just for fools like me
Who don't know a treasure from a stone
I killed a man now I won't ever see
The green rollin' hills where I was born
No I won't ever see your face again
But if I close my eyes
I can almost hear you call me back to then
And I'll love you until the day I die

Fantastic song. Everyone need truly enjoy song. We all need find Peace .
i've never heard a tone quite like that on a banjo before...simply beautiful
Often we hear anti-whites use the term "minorities" used to refer to Africans, Indians, ect
But In 1900 my people, white people, comprised 33% of world population, today we are at 9% and dropping like a rock. Not only are we a minority in the world but because of immigration & assimilation in EVERY white country and ONLY white countries our children are poised to be minorities IN OUR OWN COUNTRIES within a few decades.
This is genocide. This is evil and this must stop!

You're a twisted hatefreak. You probably have major issues about your own masculinity and inadequacy. I hope you find peace.
People say there is a RACE problem. People say this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY and ONLY into white countries.
People say the only solution to the RACE problem is if EVERY and ONLY white countries “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-whites
But if I tell the truth about the ongoing program of genocide against White people, Anti-Whites agree that Iam anaziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.
Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white

Pretty sure it is, except that McCoury said it in an interview, not directly to him. Steve said that the real conflict was about billing and money, not his cursing.
LOVE this song.
This should have been in Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? So Soggy Bottom Boys!!...The solos are delicious, especially the banjo at 1.58 and 2.26.
Pretty sure 1:58 is a mandolin.
"Trenscendental Blues", possibly the best album purchase I ever made (right up there with The Jayhawks "Tomorrow the Green Grass" and Lucinda Williams "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road". Get that set of albums and you will know all you need to know about Americana Roots Music...anything else will be just trimming after that.
love the soundbite at the end, does anyone know the truth whether it's a direct refrence to what Del McCoury said to him?
Awesome song, I am so glad to find it here on YT! I really love the banjo and the lyrics. Thanks!
