Steppenwolf - None Of The Above Lyrics

Not so long ago girl when you were on your own
I would hear your voice quite often, darling, on my telephone
And with gentle accusation hiding in your tone, you'd say
What's the matter baby? Tell me what did I do wrong?

Do you feel a new desire? Is it someone you admire?
Irons in the fire that keep you occupied?
Do you need a little shove? Have you got no time for love?
Is it none of the above that keeps you from my side?

But, oh how time has changed everything on my mind
For now that I am looking for you, I find that I've been left behind
Somewhere, somehow down the line
Lately, I've been wondering how did you slip by me?
We've always stuck together babe when trouble caught our eye
I 'been calling you for days, not a single sign of life
You really got me worried girl, are you still alive?
Do you feel a new desire? Is it someone you desire?
Irons in the fire that keep you occupied?
Do you need a little shove? Have you got no time for love?
Is it none of the above that keeps you from my side?

one great song from the killer 80s version of the band. Paradox is also very good. If you can find these, better play 'em and make a back up copy. My best friend and I saw them play some of these very tunes. Did they ROCK-Hey Lawdy Mama, the Palmer Brothers kill it. The drummer is a beast. This lp was recorded in one time take, by the way. Just like the Jazz bands did it. Fantastic sound too as Kay says-"You can hear the difference!" Natuallus Records is the best import version album. Anyway, it is all good. It is Steppenwolf, enough said. TY for posting this song. There should be more listens and likes. WOLFTRACKS. Charlie may have this one still on steppenwolf.com. God Bless!

This version of the band rocked, it was a different from the "traditional" Steppenwolf sound but man did they energize the old hits! I remember how happy I was when this album came out, something new to listen to, and I played the heck out of it, and saw them do this and other songs from this album live, it's too bad that it wasn't a hit for them. I don't know how "Hot night in a cold town" wasn't a hit for them.....

And my girlfriend was breaking up with me at this time 1982, and this song fit our situation perfectly lol!

You're right Becky. The drummer is excellent and recorded up front and clear. For a latter-day Steppenwolf, this album is wonderful.
