Stephen Stills - First Things First Lyrics

First things first
When you can quit livin' in the past
When you stop worryin' 'bout tomorrow
Then I think you just might last

And I know the price of freedom
Gettin' more than a little high
In these angry days of sorrow
We find the meaning of a lie
So I sing about first things first

First things first
Remember everything you pass
When it's time to go on back
Remember to put the first things first

And I know the price of freedom
Gettin' more than a little high
In these angry days of sorrow
We find the meaning of a lie
So I sing about first things first

Thanks to David Browne for his CSN&Y biography and for YouTube having the songs listed in the book. Good song. Cheers!

My Main Man, when I was a kid. And I'm 60 now, and he's still my main man.

Bryant Wilkins You know Bryant, I feel the same way..and although I can hardly express how much his music has meant to me all these years ( I’m 60 too ), it appears that we are not alone.

I’m 46 & when I received my first dedicated turntable the first record I played that Christmas Day was C,S,N Suite:Judy Blue Eyes over and over. Once I had a car I bought all Stills discs I could find, back when you had to find them for real, not from an internet search. No single other artist has ever affected me as much, so yes, my Main Man as well. Even today I can’t hear Thoroughfare Gap & not tear up from the beauty of the lyric. And this from the guy who Hendrix had wanted badly for The Experience.

Stills makes it seem effortless, but it takes a lot of skill to pull this off
