New vocalist seems like a good fit

They just keep sounding great, no matter who the lead singer is. That's the mark of a great group of musicians; that they can work with different people and still sound great no matter what.

Maybe you just haven't been listening to the right country/bluegrass bands. The stuff they play on the radio is usually not the good stuff.

All 3 of them sound pretty similar to me. The Steeldrivers still pretty much sound like the Steeldrivers regardless of which one of them is singing. For some bands, changing the lead singer makes a huge difference. That's not the case with the Steeldrivers.

Absolutely love The SteelDrivers! I wish they would come to the NY NJ CT area. I would be at that show in a heartbeat. This band just keeps on putting out awesome songs from terrific musicians. Whether it be Chris Gary or Kelvin at lead vocals the band sounds great.

To me, they don't sound all that different regardless of who's singing. The Steeldrivers' sound has mostly remained intact, and both Gary and Kelvin sound a lot like Chris to me.

Christopher Bingham I think kelvin sounds like Chris for sure. Gary is completely different...which is good, great in fact! No one wants imitators

I wouldn't say no one. There could be some casual fans who don't know the Steeldrivers all that well, who may be confused if they saw them live and there was a completely different voice than what they're used to hearing. Those people may subconsciously want an imitator if they can't have Chris.
