This is one of my son's favorite songs. He introduced me to them. We even went to see them once. My son choose to be with someone that his mother and I didn't approve of, because his partner's past almost caused our family problems. He lied to us about his past and when we took him in, then found out. We had to make a choice..and our son choose to leave and be with him. This person convinced him that his problems were because of us...anxiety, and not wanting to be with others. Even though we tried to encourage him to do the opposite. We wanted the Best for him. But when found out he had a past that almost jeopardized our family. We had to tell him that he wasn't wanted and could no longer stay..our son left to be with him. He left and told us he is an adult, even though he was only 16, and that he didn't want to stay. That our rules made him have issues. That his partner was better than us. That he would be there for him...in his eyes...the wanting him to help around the house..cleaning and keeping his room clean...to treat his younger sister better and not fight with her or us. We tried just like other parents, to discipline and raise him to be a good person. To take responsibility for his actions and self worth. But to him...we weren't good enough. And now when I hear this song...it breaks my heart. I think of him and think what could I and his mother could have done differently to keep him from leaving.

To me it seems like it's a continuous cycle, like Rabbit adored the girl's mother, then the girl, then the girl's daughter, but it could keep going and going, and maybe even stretched to past generations for all we know. I have never had a child but I did have a little girl. She was a beautiful dog named Mollywok and she was my soulmate, not in a sexual way. But she was the one being in this world that made me better. I have dissociative schizophrenia and with her she gave me peace and help calm me. She passed and it killed me, she has been gone for three years and I still cry over her. I have lost a part of my soul, what I would give up to just hold her would be more then worth it.

Rabbit meets a little girl at a live show who is there with her mother, she hums the tune of the music box for him which her mother gave to her (assuming its the tune you hear in the song). the little girl begins to grow into a woman,as rabbit watches her grow and stays the same. one night at a show she leaves the music box for him that she had as a girl on the stage. the woman meets a human man and they get married and have a little girl that reminds Rabbit of how the girls mother used to look when she was her age. This is one of the first songs i've heard from this album and i absolutely fell in love with it^^

I have a wonderful, loving, caring friend named Justin, who is the sweetest person I've met in my entire life. He'd give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger if given the change to help them out. When this album came out, and I heard this song for the first time, I cried because of how sweet and touching this song is, how beautiful the lyrics are, and how sad it is to have lost someone you cared for. Unfortunately a month later, Justin took his life. When I hear this song now, I think of him, and I replace words of the song to fit him, and I can't stop myself from crying each time. If I could turn back the clock to save him, I would in a heartbeat. I miss you every day, buddy.

Long time ago back in 2011 I had a little foster sister that my mom decided to take care oh her she was 3 when she came home for the first time. I never get attached to people or things often but this kid was so innocent and I thought "why would someone leave this child, she is a bundle of joy" I spent 3years with her until she was six, my mom came to me one day saying that she found parents to take care of her. She leaved my life and I was destroyed taking care of her ,playing with her, watching her grow, I knew with certainty that she was going to be with a good family but I still miss her to this day.
