Steam Powered Giraffe - Over The Moon Lyrics

At first this seems like a love song, but at a closer look it seems to me like it's a break up song.
In the intro, it sounds like they're saying "my love is over". Plus you have lyrics like "love is a terrible thing to be", "you got me good", "I'm done with you", "maybe I'm fabricating the tingles in my skin", "over the heart wrench", and things like that. It doesn't quite seem like a love song. Plus, I just recently got out of a not so great relationship, and now I feel over the moon :)

this song gives me vibes of like, a fair at night around halloween and you and your crush are together watching a band and there's lights strung up everywhere uwu

Possibly one of my favorite love songs by Steam Powered Giraffe, and one of the best songs on a truly amazing album.

For anybody wondering about the reference in the artwork (which like the song, is epic btw):

1902's "Le voyage dans la lune" by Georges Méliès - a truly amazing movie which is worth watching - its available in the originaal black and white format, although the rare colourized edition is also available for viewing on youtube after it was discovered and restored in 2011. There was also a smithsonian article about it (link below) and a successful 2011 Martin Scorsese film 'Hugo' which discussed Méliès' life and even referenced the Montparnasse derailment.

I saw it in my theater/film history class. It was very entertaining and amazing for what they could do.

same here--in my communications and mass media studies degree, I had to take classes like that, and that film was one of the many notable films that I watched in my classes. ^O^

I got to watch parts of it in my AP Euro class! Also, I believe you can find it on Netflix.

I love the album cover's reference to one of the (first films?), all I know about it is it's an old film, and the album cover is a sorta reference to it, or so I assume.

That artwork reminds of this film, I can't remember the name: It's about a boy who has a robot that can draw, and it drew something like a moon with a face impaled by a missile. I think I might look for what it's called

+JayTheBoat Yeah, I remember the film (and the novel, although I never read it) also being about the maker of that film. You see, I only saw snippets of it on telly, but I did see the part when he showed parts of the films he done, including that film.
