Who remembers wooden matchsticks? I remember the older guys in the neighborhood would fill pipes with regular matches and shoot them off like a rocket. I found a model rocket and got the bright idea to pack it with the Ohio blue tip matchstick tips in my bedroom. Was packing them down and almost done when the inevitable happened. I'm holding onto the rocket as it was shooting flames and filling the room with a massive amount of smoke. Out came the box fan and stuck it in the window. So lucky I didn't get hurt or set the house on fire. I often wonder how high it would have flown.
