Status Quo - Mountain Lady Lyrics

You're climbing mountains in the sky
You're always looking for another high
You're looking so far ahead you're looking away
I'm taking you in, you're taking me on
Your smiling face never lets you down
Where everyone who calls you friend remembers your name
And everyone who called you friend will never again

I'm taking a walk in your heart
I'm feeling my way through the dark
I'm taking a walk in your heart
I'm taking a walk in your heart

I've known the mountain ladies well
They live a never-ending fairytale
Where walking through another heart is all in a day
They treat me well, they treat me nice
They think that I'm gonna pay the price
So now I'm gonna put you straight, you're playing my game

I'm taking a walk in your heart
I'm feeling my way through the dark
Oh, I'm taking a walk in your heart
I'm taking a walk in your heart

There's never been a better reason at any time before
'Cos everything that we've been feeling is now an open door
And as the snow is falling the mountains start to call
But do I feel you walking in my heart?

I'm taking a walk in your heart
I'm feeling my way through the dark
And I'm taking a walk in your heart
Yeah, I'm taking a walk in your heart
I'm feeling my way through the dark
Yeah I'm taking a walk in your heart

Status Quo Mountain Lady Comments
  1. Alan Strom

This is an example of ALAN LANCASTER genius and pure magic. Alan is my fave member of QUO!!
IF THE RECORD COMPANY RELEASED TRACKS LIKE THIS AS A 'SINGLE' then QUO would have a much better image and legacy, especially in AUSTRALIA WHERE RADIO ABANDONED QUO!! Sorry forgot to take caps lock off!! There were many album tracks that would've made better "singles'

  2. Michael John Foster

Where everyone who calls you friend remembers your name, and everyone who calls you friend will never again. Great melody and great lyric.

  3. Angio Proceed

the most underated Quo album, the Franticfour before the fatal splits

  4. ian gillon

    lush song!!

  5. Marc Moingeon

Great song, not famous but one of my top favourite from Status Quo and from Never Too Late.. It's got a different flavour, not just boogie rock, definitely ... The folk element appeals to me a lot (reminds me of Led Zeppelin's acoustic tracks from 1970 et 1971) and the short pre-chorus with its melancholy feeling is what I prefer.

  6. Gerard van Leeuwen

Alan  did a great job with this one !!

    Alan Strom

Lancaster was the backbone of QUO!!
    My fave member.
