I've been a Quo fan since day 1, seen them 7 or 8 times, & met the band in the 70's. However, this version of this song is crap. Listen to the Jaguars version for top Rock'n'Roll.
OK. Sorry about that...I just found out that they re-released "Under The Influence" with 4 additional tracks that were never on the original that I have. One of those additional tracks is this song. The best version of this song is by "The Jaguars" in my opinion.
This is NOT Status Quo & all the info in the video above is rubbish. I have every record & CD they ever made and I've met the band.

mike travis I just listened to this again and I think I understand why this doesn't work for me. it doesn't really sound like status quo in that it's just too smooth for lack of a better word. this recording is devoid of energy.
Rockpile was all about energy as well as the three part harmony of Nick Lowe Dave Edmunds and Billy Bremner.
Francis Rossi is an amazing guitar player and singer as is Dave Edmunds but for me status quo songs like don't waste my time Caroline and whatever you want are far more indicative of their sound. this interpretation of Rockpile just has no balls.

Not Bad. The pace is about right - Dave Edmunds version exhausts everyone at the bash and there would be no energy for running off with the bride or nuptials. Nick Lowe's vid elsewhere is a knockout. Characters, clothes, action and superb humour.
