Status Quo - Drifting Away Lyrics
You can't see what you mean to me
I just can't get you out of my head
You move me more than I've ever been
Like a wild supersonic jet
But I can't see your love drifting away
I got told by a friend of mine
That you don't want me anymore
Now my friend's got a broken nose
Sure, and I got a broken jaw
So don't push me around, I'm coming your way
And I don't want your love d-d-d-drifting away
Don't you know what I'm living for?
Don't you know what I'm trying to say?
'Cos you're mine and it's staying that way
I'm giving you my love, don't throw it away
But I can see your love d-d-d-drifting away
Oh, drifting away, you got me drifting away
Oh, drifting away

OMG thath´s good
Absolutely brilliant guitar solo. One of Rossi's best
For me, this is the real Quo, the way it was supposed to be.
best track on the album
This how i remember them as a teenager , good old heavy blues rock band , the frantic 4 were brilliant could live with anybody live , post Blue for You it was crap , these rockers still get the best reception when the new Quo played
Ddddrifting away....we heared it evry weekend in Zieges room....anno dunnemals...when we were young....holy shit
OMG. I fotgotten this one... but my LP album "Blue for you" kills'em all really...everyday and on onon. Just3acords.
its one of or perhaps the most powerful rocksong from quo ever. heard it first time when i was twelve on my belt driven record player. my uncle brought me to my first live quo concert . i miss him R.I.P. my buddy . you have been real rockn roller
This could be the best Rock song of all time!!!!!!! It swings and swaggers.
What a song. What an album. What a band. The Frantic Four had no match. Best line up ever. You will never see or hear a better rock band than QUO in its prime with the Hello , Quo, Live, On the Level and Blue For You albums. Thanks guys
Heavy Metal Boogie !
Let it rock and bang yer heads!
Quo had some good shit in those early days but with Rockin All Over The World it all went down hill. For the last 30 years they have been no more than a Pontins holiday camp band. The footage of the Frantic Four tour wasnt too bad though but they plsyed all the old good stuff. In The Army Now...... How embarrassing!!
Totally agree in fact we could call it the Rossi Travelling Circus Band.
Once John and Alan left that was the end of Quo for me. Right off the rails
Totally agree , commercial shit , this is brilliant don't know why they went all pop bullshit , money ???
Drifting Away is a tight, punchy man's Rock song, which is what Alan, Rick and John were all about.
Some QUO 'fans' have said that it is one of QUO'S least good songs and I would totally disagree most vehemently, I feel it is one of their best and strongest Rockers
QUO's mid-late 60's Psych music blows my mind and proves that they are/were great musicians.
When I was 9 yrs old in 1970 I hadn't heard of most things because I was only 9 yrs old. LOL!!
I went to a friends Birthday party and he got 20 Red Hot Hits on vinyl as a present and track one side two was DOWN THE DUSTPIPE, my life changed forever.
Thanks to a Jewish Australian called Carl Groszman who wrote the song, thus the lyrics 'you don't like the shape of my nose'
I couldn't imagine a world without STATUS QUO, I love them so much!!!!!
Alan Strom It’s a classic, I can’t believe any true fan would say such a thing
Why never played this live?
After playing this song the whole band had to go and have a lie down from being exhausted. The relentless power and energy required to perform this track would've been very demanding. It is one of my fave QUO songs. Lancaster, Parfitt and Coghlan were the backbone of QUO. Rossi loves Country music way too much. Marguerita Time is a disgusting and repulsive song. Whereas BLESSED ARE THE MEEK from UNDER THE INFLUENCE is a truly great Country song. True QUO supporters can identify QUO songs that have a tinge of Country influence in them, they are subtle and very tasteful.
Lancaster was very embarrassed by Marguerita Time and rightly so.
Anyway, QUO are/were one of the most versatile and diverse bands in music history
( very SPINAL TAP ) which is a good quality. Music critics are some of the biggest morons and STATUS QUO in their many forms will always be the Greatest, Truest and most Honest music force in the history of the world.
RIP Rick Parfitt- The Best and Greatest rhythm guitarist of all time.
70’s Quo...Glasgow Apollo, best venue ever, saw them in Munster on the Rocking all over the world tour, awesome, I’m 60 now, and will die loving the old Quo..
This was the B-side of the Mystery Song single....oooh yeah I am so old
Stouffer this was 1974 quo quo album and mystery song was on blues for you album 1976
Here's an example of a great band on top of there game ..always was and always will be a favourite song of mine
Starts off quite a bit like Highway Star by Deep Purple.....
Highway Star is an effin' great Rock song from MACHINE HEAD 1972.Love it.
.......this was some while before the Quo drifted away from being a Heavy Rock band at the top of their game - Rick's rhythm guitar is relentless...Alan's vocals impassioned: great track - great album.
Phil Hammond My all time favorite Quo song
