My teenage memorries

I discovered this song over 2019 New Years. It was on a playlist that dad had from mostly 1990s - mid 2000s. There was something about it that connected with me. I looked it up later and my god I’m glad I did. I’m a girl with aspergers, ADD and take an Anti-depressant. I don’t mean to repeat what other comments have said, but this DEFINITELY describes what my mind is like. I interpreted the lyrics of ‘it’s always raining in my head’ as either constant worries and depression, or having way to many thoughts on everything to the point that you can’t flicks or be happy. A relative of mine told in the heat the moment a few minutes before I found stain’d that I my head had too many thoughts and and a normal adult my age would be able to clearly and concisely organize my thoughts. While possibly true, it hurt and it still does, but not as much now. This song helped me get over it. Hope it does for anyone else to.😌

First heard this song in 2001/2. Was *pretty* but didnt speak to me at my core.


This song continued to pop up at the most emotionally painful times in my life. Each time, it was like hearing it for the fist time, and more and more it touched a more broken part of me.
In 2008 when my ex, was going through war related issues, and then walked out the front door to never return, my heart quite literally left with him. I never moved on from him.


I found this CD in what was left in our bedroom.. and couldnt stop listening. I had this song on loop. It made so much sense to me. *HE* made so much sense to me. I understood why he had to go. I understood why my heart had to be broken. I understood why that little boy inside was just scared and needing help. If only I knew how to speak to that little boy inside.


Now, I forgive myself, for not loving him the way he needed, and I forgive him for not loving me the way I needed. Its ok to move on now. I deserve love and so does he. He moved on a long time ago and I deserve the same.


I have never told anyone about my broken heart. Just, that relationships were not for me. Well, that is not true. Heartache can be a beautiful part of living a full life. I dont regret giving him my heart. I listen to this song often, and it helps me heal and remember how far I have come.

This song is one of those it speaks to the heart and soul of anyone who has a soul it's a real disease if people don't understand and it causes problems in relationships and families being bipolar and have anxiety and depression along with being an introvert I stay stuck in my head a lot having battled with drugs currently in recovery with no help every word and every verse speaks volumes and truths! To anybody out there that has the same problem sometimes being stuck in your head is the best place to be all by yourself and God Aaron Lewis you rock I'm from your hometown went to the same school different years nothing but peace and love with God everything is possible amen

Oh how I wish these guys together. Aaron can sing to my soul and the guys in the band harmonize with their instruments perfectly with his voice. They've brought my children and me close and when I lost my oldest son to an overdose they gave us a sing to say goodbye. I had everyone in the funeral procession play their favorite Staind song loud all the way to the cemetary so he could hear it all the way to Heaven.
