I realized a different meaning to the song... it's talking about how society requires you lie, and the singer can't really understand why he feels like he's something else but he keeps on telling these lies instead. He doesn't want to lie, but he always does and he doesn't even know exactly why. When he says 'it's all a part of my flawed design', he might be literally talking about how he used to be so honest when he was young and now he feels so conflicted, but also maybe he's talking about how he hates how he just goes along with society like that. So the flawed design isn't him, but really society.

good point, i have just a slight comment. I think sociecty don't require you to lie, but it rewards liers. In that sense, humans are flawed in that we seek rewards just for rewards sake.

^ Bythespirits - Youve refined Voldy's opinion well. I have emotional connection to this song growing up for as I grew and what i did and how i know God, but when it comes to the factual meaning of the song i think youve solved the mystery in tandem.

@ByTheSPiRiTs I don't think society just rewards liers, but at the very least a large segment of society will hate you if you tell the truth and I think will do whatever it takes to stop being a truth teller.

I don't mean to and I certainly don't want to turn this into a left vs right thing, but I do know that from my perspective Donald Trump tells it as it is and the establishment hates him for it. They hate him because the truth exposes the corrupt. Ten years ago the left knew this just as well as the right if not better. Cleaning up Washington was a big part of Obama's 2008 campaign and getting big money out of Washington was central to Bernie Sanders campaign as well. So I truly believe both the left and the right truly want this.

What I ultimately want is to bring the left and right together because from my perspective we have much that we agree on and if we come together we can find a way to work through even that which we disagree on.
