Kindof really fucking depresses me that the opening advertisement chosen for my [apparent] demographic is for diaper rash ointment. That's how it works with advertising that's permitted to be more offensive due to its 'algorithmic' nature, right?
Why have humans not learned that nothing we create will ever be random, because we are so much a part of each other?
Is it because many of us only identify with the people we know, and not enough with the ones we don't?
Certainly the advertisements directed towards men don't suggest that something the size of a watermelon grew inside of their body and had to be be forced out of an opening which was perhaps the size of a lemon. The inherent trauma and emotional confusion/degredation should be implied. It doesn' take extraordinary powers of empathy to understand that, for those individuals who aren't personally affected by the destructive ways of human reproductive practices.
I've almost been led to believe breeding ISN'T the only purpose men serve on this planet.
I've definitely been led to believe it's mine.
I always imagine advertisements chosen for males depict vacations or cars or something. Something PROMISING and INDICATIVE OF A FUTURE THEY CREATE FOR THEMSELVES.
Not a future created for them. No women know 'freedom' in a world controlled by penises.

I sort of wish that she wouldn't wear carefully-applied make up. It is very distracting. (And I don't agree with the naysayers who dislike the video. I think it is refreshing, and hilarious. )

THANK GOD. I finally found a song of hers without that scratchy sort of guitar that she uses in a lot of her songs. Her voice is so beautiful so I'm glad I found a song where it's more of the focus.

A lot of "Actor", the album this is from, is lighter. She was inspired by old Disney soundtracks so a lot of the album is really symphonic. "Strange Mercy" is really chill. Really the only album that is super BLARGH and guitar heavy is the most recent one.

A lot of her earlier work doesn't rely on her custom guitar-type, but her self titled and most recent album uses that new direction of sound

Of all of her videos that I have seen, this is the worst. The sensibilities of the video and the song are in too much contrast. Plus, a solo performance to the sound of a full band seems amateur .
