Springfield, Rick - Under The Milky Way Lyrics
Sometimes when this place gets kind of empty
Sound of their breath fades with the light
I think about loveless fascination
Under the Milky Way tonight
Might have known what you would find
And it's something quite peculiar
Something that's shimmering and white
Leads you here despite your destination
Under the Milky Way tonight
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
Might have known what you would find
Lower the curtain down in Memphis
Lower the curtain down all right
I got no time for private consultation
Under the Milky Way tonight
Wish I knew what you were looking for
Might have known what you would find
Under the Milky Way tonight
Under the Milky Way tonight
Under the Milky Way tonight

Springfield, Rick Under The Milky Way Comments
So Rick's a "Donnie Darko" fan!
How about this cover? https://youtu.be/uyTCa3Cemsk
I Love this song, and Rick singing it makes it AWSOME!!!!
Good job Rick, I'm surprised and actually impressed.
Very cool Guy ❤❤
who the fuck is jimmy little
Great job rick
very G O O D !! merci beaucoups !!
No sense of humor
Are you embarrassed now
I Love this song, and Rick singing it makes it AWSOME!!!!
Rick I'd love to hear you do more covers maybe psychodelic furs, depeche mode, or even the cure. You got the curiosity peaked.. I wanna hear more lol.
Happy 69th birthday, Rick! And thanks for a great cover of a great song by your fellow Australians The Church.
I read a comment that said he Americanized it. How? Sounds like he stuck real close to the original just tweaked it a bit is all. Piss off! It's all Apple's in my opinion.
Added this version to my playlist lol. Idk it's a great fuckin version...
Nice one Rick!
I keep coming back to hear this version. I like it so much better.
Very cool Guy ❤❤
Holy shit! I loved the church's version but Ricks has officially taken over. I'm loving some of these covers!!!
Two other songs Rick should cover
https://youtu.be/GRNZfV8rKQM
https://youtu.be/6c0riyYFd2I
the only thing better than this would be Iain Glen playing this for me and playing the bagpipe in the middle eight.
It takes balls to cover ANY song, and Springfield did an excellent job with this.
Until she broke up with him
Was her fiance
Which she's laughing
Ricky from Springfield was her ex-boyfriend
Great. ..
In a blokish way, I LOVE Rick and The Church.
It's all good
I'm going to have to agree rami. I've heard a dozen covers of this great Church tune and this is near the top. Good job Rick!
Surprisingly good cover
it's a little low for his voice...
isso é bom!
I liked the whole thing, but I LOVE it from 3:44 to the end. There's some great magic going on there.
Jimmy Little is a legendary Australian singer who passed away earlier this year. Some years back, he did a very good version of Under The Milky Way, which I thought was better than this one.
who the fuck is jimmy little
Google?
Sounds pretty Americanized to me.
Yes he was, he was also on some soap opera back in the day.
yes of course played a hunky doctor
This is a little too similar to the original version. It's not bad, but it's not particularly original either. I like the Jimmy Little recording better.
Like the way he has song it in a low register, shows respect for the song, he could have "americanised" it but he resisted = good cover
Great cover of an excellent song by an outstanding musical talent. To hell with the haters and naysayers.
rick does this justice, the church are such a underated band
Good job Rick, I'm surprised and actually impressed.
Meh......................beats the hell outta the Kill Hannah version at least. Still nowhere near the caliber of the original, though.
Pretty faithful to the original....
Not even close.
OK, that was painful.
buen cover
Rick Springfield covering a classic 80's song so far apart from his own style? HE NAILED IT. This is the best cover of this song to ever grace the airways. WOW! KUDOS to you. Never would ahve thought that Jessie's Girl would be so dark. Keep it up..
wow
NICE cover
am also a fan of The Church for a long long time and I find that this is a really good cover.
great cover, I love it
As a longtime fan of The Church, I have to say that this is the best cover of this song that I've heard so far. I was surprised when Rick covered this song because it's not the type of music that I thought he would listen to, but it turns out that he really likes The Church, not just this song.
Not bad
