The vocals are sexy and at the same time husky, only Dusty Springfield could sing like this. I'm sure this song would perfectly fit in any Tarantino's movie ! Even in clubs it would still work just to have fun. Dusty could sing everything !

MrCo60: I was listening to this track for the 100th (or so) time here on YOUTUBE, when I looked down and read your post. "That's The Kind Of Love..." was the (vinyl) side 2 closing number on the 1978 DUSTY LP "It Begins Again." That record was a great mix of ballads and funky pop tunes, but this was the only disco song included. Talk about going out on a high note !!! (The LP version was only shorter than this one by about a minute!)

It's off of the "It Begins Again" Lp. Just bought it recently. Very well produced LP. Dusty sounds great on it.
Overall, a very good LP. But I liked CAMEO way better (the one she released prior to this one).
A PRIME example of GOOD Disco. How I wish some movie-maker would include this in their movie soundtrack, as Quentin Tarentino did by putting "Son Of A Preacher Man" in "Pulp Fiction." I think a newer generation would love this song if they heard it!
Song and Dusty so great, could have been on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. Would have fit in nicely. But you're right, it's hot, dance clubs would get into it. The orchestration is wonderful.
