I am accustomed to Dionne Warwick’s recording which is considerably more intense and emotionally sophisticated. Her voice excels Dusty’s in supple expressiveness and the arrangement with the very haunting background vocals makes for a deeper psychological impact. Dionne’s recording wins hands down! PWG

Her masterpiece album. Got me through some long and lonely times on the Gulf of Tonkin just off Vietnam. So did Dionne's albums. Dionne also does a terrific job with this song.

how can she sing this song - her range is incredible. I often listen to it wondering how she got to the high notes without passing out. I think this song is truly uncover able who else could even get close to this!

Yes, Dusty had incredible breath control and vocal ability second to none. So hard to believe that this Memphis LP didn't race up the charts when it came out. It wasn't appreciated by the public until decades later. Ahead of her time, big time.

Perfect song for Dusty to show what she could do with the insanely high, soft, breathy side of her voice.  Off the charts!

You are on to something. But I prefer listening to her with fine wine. Cause she is like fine wine.

But I guess the bottom line is that her voice is intoxicating. As emotions and booze are intoxicating.
