Spock's Beard - June Lyrics
June
Came upon us much too soon
Then was gone
Gone
Like the mountains of the moon
Then the sun came up on a sleepy day
And never went down at night
And the crowd kept on singin' Waste Away
But it just didn't feel right
And the prince and the drummer and the fire girls
Couldn't get our guitars in tune
And I knew it was over when the sound man said
"I wish we were still in June"
Telephones in private rooms
Hot bath
Bathe
In the smell of the buzz' perfume
Man, I want to go back
And I knew
It couldn't be true
It wasn't free
It wasn't for me
Yeah, yeah, yeah...
June
Came upon us much too soon
Then was gone
And we knew
It couldn't be true

Spock's Beard June Comments
We need someone or something to fill the gap Neal-era SB left behind.
Times are tough, we need to bring the human soul back to the forefront of our creations.
June came upon us much too soon...
love those fucking chords
💐✨💜✨💐
What a GREAT song ...... still awesome !!!!!!
This song is just ... beautiful. It has a degree of melancholy but it is also hopeful and uplifting.
This song is required listening on June 1st.
Or in early January, to find a sense of hope.
I love this song!
Spock's Beard are one of my Favorites - but this Tune is not their best
The silliest songs are always the best!
This song is simply AWESOME! The melody and harmonies are so spot on. Brings such fond memories when I hear this song. Thanks for writing and sharing such a great piece of musical art fellas. \m/
So perfect, so cool, so amazing
💜💜💜💜💜
I can't get enough of this song
I get lost in the richness of this song. Forget the lyric, which is fairly silly. This is music to immerse yourself in.
On my channel, you'll find the tabs for this song!
Don't forget to FOLLOW Spock's Beard on BandsInTown!!

The twist......June is a girl.
@Chris Walker Hahaha
Kind of a like a nice mashup of Dear Prudence, Here Comes the Sun, and Hey Jude...
Dear Prudence was my first thought when i heard it for the very first time.
Neal Morse is a big Beatles fan so I suppose that's not a stretch.
Ben Smyth ,
Hearing this song again after a few years is refreshing. I'm still stunned.
I'm a Major fan of good harmonies, and these guys just plain knock it out of the park with this tasty treat.
Hey, Im a huge Spock's Beard fan and have always adored this song. But can anyone tell me who the prince and the drummer and the fire girls are?
You would have to ask the band.

flying colors in hamburg was awesome :)
Such a good song. A complete grower but I've learned to love it and the arrangement SB gave it. Hearing Neal Morse sing it with the Beard last year in London was a joy.
I had the pleasure of seeing Flying Colors perform this in NYC. Thank you!
That's what I thought, too.
One of my students overheard me playing this at lunch and asked to play it again. She was brought to tears and had the entire class listen to it. Now I have a classful of AP History students (all 16 or 17 years old) who love SB!!!
@neafane01 ca bine zici
DT and SB are both great.
So are the Flower Kings and Marillion. Put them all together and you get Transatlantic. :)
wonderful to listen in 5 February 2012 when in Romania is snowing for 3 days!!!!!!Bravooooo!!!
@Acidmetric Sounds a bit like the Beatles song 'Dear Prudence'.
@MADNickosNose Those saying that DT is purely prog metal have never heard 'Hollow Man' or 'Wither'...
You must mean "Hollow Years". ;)
Looks like Morningstar mine road west of Vegas in the spring.
and a great track as well !
I love people comparing Dream Theater to Spock's Beard, seen as one band is a progressive metal band and the other is a progressive rock band sort of branching to indie pop and old prog music. It's sort of like comparing Metallica to Dire Straits. The two genres (although they are both called "progressive") have very little in common.
Well said. Completely agree with you.
Neal Morse I <3 you.
A Beard classic, One of the best bands singing in polyphonics (along with Savatage)
This is the best song ever!!
@Acidmetric: Dream Theater are still very melodic. and way more soullful than ignorant idiots think.
i first heard of this band and song the other day on launchcast. WOW.
The way the bass steps in is really cool
Yea yea yea, yea yea, I listen to this in all the months. But just not in June. Kidding of course.
More not, but they are still great.
What a beautiful song... the harmonies give me goose bumps! These guys are awesome!
Band: Spock's Beard
