I love this album but it is a pity that it did not have the attention it deserved. There are songs that would be a hit.. I think it was to early for a change in music direction. Maybe it would be more successful nowadays.

This is single handedly the worst track the Spice Girls put their name to.

It sounded like only 3 girls were singing.. can’t hear Mel B, not even on the backing vocals.. this is like a Mel C track feat. Victoria Beckham & Emma Bunton! Lol..

Agent plus she was the one that caused Geri to leave and the group to split thinking that she’s the energy, the star, and the core of the group when her career was as bland, void, and as short- lived as few weeks.

yeah Mel B did act like she wanted to be the leader sometimes, plus Geri left the band on her birthday, can't be a coincidence

I always thought that the chorus and 2nd pre-chorus harmonies were Mel C, Mel B and Victoria, but after listening to this a lot, it sounds like Mel C , Emma and Victoria !

@Emma Johnson we cannot know for sure the reasons of Geri's leaving... all what we believe being true, could stay just speculations.
Of course Geri was well aware in late 1997-early 1998 of a precise fact, that it wasn't anymore time for Spice Girls to still rely mainly (aside releasing a couple albums and some singles, musically-wise) on countless TV appearances, talk shows, countless interviews, lip-sinched songs and all sorts of minor events; it was time to do some things more in earnest... and moreover, that huge committment named SpiceWorldTour '98 was coming. While the other girls got more and more confident at singing and dancing live before thousands and thousands fans (also looked like the were having more fun just while the tour grew more and more demanding, and harder), Geri clearly was experiencing the opposite. Whatever the reason, videos and interviews from that timeframe quite seem confirming the thing.
Who knows, maybe by leaving at the peak of their (and her) fame, sure she would have benefitted from celebrity still present at top high degree... of course, media and press worldwide would hugely cover the event for some time to come. Could it be?

Geri left early in the morning of May 27th (as soon as exiting the airplane after coming back from Helsinki), Mel B's birthday is on May 29th.

This entire album's lyrics were rife with bitterness about Geri leaving the group abruptly. While this album isn't bad, it completely lost what made Spice Girls so special. Not just because Geri left, but because of the new look, new sound and new attitude of the group. Gone was Girl Power and the crazy personalities of the girls. Gone was Baby, Scary, Sporty, Posh and Ginger. They were going for a more mature sound and look with this album. It wasn't a flop, it still sold very well, but not even close to the previous albums. When this album came out, their star power had already started to diminish. This was the final nail in the coffin for the Girls. It blows my mind how famous they were from JUST TWO albums, Spice and Spice World, and that awful movie lol. I'm a huge fan of Spice Girls from the very beginning. When they reunited in 2007, it was awesome. Then again for the 2012 Olympics in London. But this group only ever worked when it was all 5 of them together. Soon as Geri left, the Spice lost it's flavor 100%.

exactly!!!! really Geri was like the lead writer of the group, and she was good at what she did. When she left, the lyrics turned into angsty stories written by 7 year-olds discovering their bodies

Geri admitted, and some of the other girls, that she was the main one behind the lyrics and melody writing for their music.. haven't you noticed that most of the songs have Geri written all over them? such as Lady is a Vamp, Viva Forever, Who Do you Think You Are, Never Give Up On The Good Times, Too Much, Last Time Lover, Stop etc., she even wrote Goodbye before she left. but of course, the other girls had to rewrite the lyrics. she was the one who had most of the input with the lyrics and melodies. when Geri wasn't there for the 3rd album, most of the lyrics were just repetitive, and not much creativity.

When Geri left, she took the Spice with her, and her debut album was full of good songs, while the Forever album suffered.

I love them as a 4-piece because they sang & danced more. And r&b is my jam. It wasn’t the other 4’s fault that this album flopped. While Geri was the brains behind most of their songs in the past, it was totally selfish of her to just leave them into thin air. Still, they were able to produce 2 more number 1’s with Holler & Let Love Love Lead The Way. And another Christmas no.1 with Goodbye. So not bad at all..
I don’t agree that Geri was the spice of the group because personally, Geri was my least favorite from the beginning. And what she did was not just unprofessional but hurtful to the other girls & SG fans.
But I agree that magic happens when it’s all 5 of them together. So I don’t think the rumored 2019 Spice Girls reunion (without the now-most-famous member Victoria) will work.

Won't work as a 4 piece my ass they sold out 13 stadium dates without the most famous and overrated Mrs Beckham which only shows no one gives two shits about her and her ridiculous false brand in 2019. Go Mel B/C, Emma and Geri hope you girls keep going with new music which I'm sure will be successful and Spicy.

It's not the first time they did a song without a member. They've done that since their first album. The backstreet boys have had songs missing a member or 2 as well.

Actually they did. If it's so awful then why are you here? In my opinion this is their BEST album because the sound is more mature then Spice or Spiceworld.

"Forever" was the third album from the Spice Girls released in 2000. "Wasting my time" is a great song good beat! This was their last album minus Geri Halliwell. Uncle Freddie produced this song. I know its hard to believe but this album is actually awesome and all the songs are great. I used to own this album and remember loving all the songs. I can dance all night on this song. This album was number one in Brazil lol nice! Spice girls days were so much fun lol I miss the Spice Girls badly!!!

This was one of the best songs on the album, a little bit of a mixture between classic spice girls and mature spice girls as a 4 piece band!

This is probably one of the closest songs to what they used to do in the past so this is one of the best on the album

It would've done better if the girls had done a little more promotion of the album. They just abandoned all promotion because they were concentration on their solo careers.

I disagree completely. In fact, this song reminds me of older songs from them like "love thing" "something kinda funny" and "last time lover". Love the empowerement lyrics, (nothing that most of popstars would sing nowadays..) and melanie and victoria voices kill it in this tune! my fav from the album....

Why is Sporty only singing the chorus?

It's kinda sad that this record sold 5 million and was considered a failuire. Imagine now.
BTW this album was great, I really like the fact that Mel C and Emma were the core of most of the songs, and the fact that since Geri wasn't in the group anymore Victoria had to actually sing.

I love this song. Melanie B, Emma & Victoria wrote it. Ironically, Melanie B has no lines in the song except for the harmony. It goes to show how soulful Melanie C's & Emma's voice were!
