Sparks - Propaganda Lyrics
"Hello soldier boy,"
oh boy, shes spewing out her propaganda, propaganda
Might makes right, though you're wrong,
you're right to fight her propaganda, propaganda, propaganda
"Come on over", she does say
Well I don't need more
Competition for
Her affection
You should fight on
Fight on
Over there

Sparks Propaganda Comments
After more than 40 years.....still love it!
Holy Crap! I am 57 years old, and I'm hearing this song for the first time. It is fantastic! I thought Sparks came from the 80s. Damn this is good.
Try late sixties 😂! You obviously have a lot of listening to do. From the very first album first named 'Halfnelson' as the first name of the band was, re-issued as 'Sparks' as they changed their name. 'A woofer in a tweeter's clothing', second album is a 'must hear'. Of course, so is "Kimono My House' and 'Propaganda'. 24 albums, a 25th is coming! Everything is a matter of taste, but I can mension, not in any particular order, 'Gratuitous Sax and Senseless Violins', 'Hello Young Lovers', 'Lil' Beethoven', 'Exotic Creatures Of The Deep', 'Balls' and of course 'Hippopotamus'!
And so much more in between. 💖😁
Thank you Edgar
Here because of Edgar wright's insta feed!
Unique genius
I had this cassette 40 yrs ago and I LOVED IT!!! Unfortunately, I don't think they caught on in the U.S. They're like if Queen and Devo had a child.
大好きです、最高!
Time really flies

This is like Gentle Giant on cocaine
One of the best albums of the early 70s and certainly one of the most underrated. Not a duff track on it. Bought it a week after it was released and it still sounds great 44 years later.
Loved Sparks since inception even when called Halfnelson

Dinky Diamond's drumming!
*STOP!*
There's gotta be a million girls like her though I can't think of one.
so fab. One of the most underrated bands, ever.
The number one most underrated band in the history of recorded music.
I bought this album back in the 70s after being introduced to it by my older step brother who lives in London. Over the years I lost it, re-bought it, lost it, re-brought it and now lost it again. Looks like I need to buy it again now. lol But I love this album so much and like others, love every track and can listen over and over, as I'm doing right now. :)
One of the greatest albums of all time
+Gusdocs1 I soooooo agree wit you. They don´t make music like this anymore. This is so GOOD!!! To think this was made in 1974 and this sounds as it was made like yesterday! This whole PROPAGANDA album is so good! I was like 10 years old when I found SPARKS and I still listen to this group! Love this!!!
классика блек металл!!!
Masterpiece!
First tracks I heard in stereo and first album I bought. Still brilliant. :)
All lyrics are on the vinyl album.

While there, go to the "Sparks mart", you might find something nice, an anniversary album or two? 😀
Watta song
The greatest album cover ever, really.
Two hours of freezing cold stomach churning endured. Well Ron said once that he would do anything for a good cover!
This is cool and looks freezing cold!
(An embryo to, only demo, 'Kidnapped' 😂? "Gagged me with a pair of underpants")
I like the genius of 'Hello Young Lovers' with all the rabbits. I mean, what sort of animal is well known for a lot of, hm, love? 😉
Towa Tei paid homage to it in his Lost Control Mix album.
The reflections in the sunglasses even add a bit more mayhem
One hell of a song
@Rafael Washington Yeah. Sounds like 70s Queen.
+teppolundgren They actually asked Brian May to join before he ended up with Queen. Queen was inspired by Sparks believe it or not.
@Nicholas Richter
I didn't know that. But didn't they both start at about the same time?
Or perhaps Queen were inspired by Sparks between their first and second album?
Well they have been around for 1970 and there still going strong..
@teppolundgren, Sparks name is from 1971, before that they had been a band since 1969 as "Halfnelson", recorded A DEMO ALBUM they called 'A woofer in a tweeter's clothing' and an official album, selfnamed 'Halfnelson'. When their name was changed, they re-issued that album, 1972, now called 'Sparks', and released a second album, which should not be confused with the demo, named "A woofer in a tweeter's clothing".
Early 1973 they left the US for England where they were received much better. They spent that year writing songs and doing concerts (at one point Queen opened for them) and also a couple of TV shows (where Ron still had long hair) in England and I THINK (someone?? 🤔) in a few other European countries.
Kimono My House came out in May 1974 and Propaganda (I think?) in November the same year in England and in Januari 1975 in the US.
The rest is history that should be taught in elementary school! 😁 💖
What the hell are they saying...and about what are they singing?
@Jehoël de la Croix Jugan
Thank you, I have had a nice day, I hope you had/are having, too! 😁
"Sometimes" and "some women... as others", I'm perfectly fine with that 👍, even though me being a woman myself, I have difficulties too, you know 😂. In general men are much easier to get along with. There are women, hm... 🙄 and we other women, who are almost as confused as many men are. Absolutely. So, please, remember women are not a homogeneous group 😂😂😂! Neither are men 😉.
I do not believe Ron or Russell have any problems with women per se, two female drummers and they have worked with a lot of other women during the years.
🙉🙈🙊
@Anna Backman You're right, a difficulty comes from criteria that make a "homogeneous group", which is, a word. What do 100 % of men have in common, so we could say that, at least on this sole aspect, they are one group ? If we find one man that does not have this characteristic, we remove "him" from the group. We would find ourselves defining the word "man", on which we were supposed to rely to class them ! To someone who would ask you "are you in or out ?", you would reply "It's your definition ", then you would say " who cares then ?", and we would end up mention that some mony is probably attached on a paper form somewhere if you are "in", so ok, i'm in, yes, write that down and send the money. If it counts double, I'm superman, mark that also and send the extra-money :D
@Jehoël de la Croix Jugan
Ok, I'm trying hard not to say "Go easy on those plants", but I didn't do very well, did I? 🌱🌿🌿😁💕
@Anna Backman Yes you did, you conveyed the most important part of it. I can feel how sweet you are, and that makes me feel good. 💕💕💕💕💕
