It's not with Radiohead, but with the special and little contribution of Thom Yorke. Besides, the video has no relation with the spirit of the song. It seems a desperate attempt to impress. I think the original song (excelent!) and this respectable cover don t have that goal.

This is the second best version of this song ive ever heard , Pink Floyds is the best by far but this one is coming in a strong second ....This happens to be one of my all time favorites and to get me to like another version besides Pink Floyd takes something very special and well they nail it... Great Remake of a Classic song Well done ....

I like this version much more than Pink Floyd's. That first melody is just sharper and sadder here. and Thom's melodious humming at the end is a great comfort. Of course, Mark Linkous' voice is lovely as well. I only just started listening to his songs.

Does somebody knows on wich CD or vinyl this track appears? On wikipedia, it says it's on the same single as Maria's Little Elbows and Painbirds. I only found that CD with these two songs, "Wish you were here" does not figure on it. I know it's on Radiohead's "Lost Treasures" album, but I was wondering if Sparklehorse did put it on a disc. Definitely almost. Mark Linkous was a genius, but give the original another spin: I love the hint of warmth that is maybe missing from Sparklehorse's version.

I think the lyrics fit better with a less heartwarming melody, just my opinion though.

Funny, how I've always felt that it's Mark's version that has the hint of warmth that the original song lacks.

I like this version as well and it's a great cover. But still knowing what tragedy is behind the original version and Daves voice makes me feel it more. Anyway...it's great music that we enjoy. :)

@Annie Sophos it is probably in some movie, i love when producers put these quotes into songs. Sadly i don't have the answer. my advice is try to understand as much as you want and google the bits that you understand and put the world "quote" at the end of your search

It's quite sad that Mark's songs only have a few thousand views and few comments from years ago we should honor him by telling people about him. To go like all his good songs, buy his cd's, view his songs, and of course leave comments on each of them so it won't look so empty
