I've always thought this song is about Reagan and then presidents in general cause this song came out in 1989 at the end of Reagan's presidency and he played a cowboy in the movies and supported the censoring of music that people like Tipper Gore founded with the Parents Music Resource Center and how Ronald was a control freak

But this song came first, so Alice in chains' song: Junkhead was directly influenced by Soundgarden.

It's just both bands have some Sabbath/Zeppelin influence, that's why some songs sound similar.

If you didn't know who Soundgarden was until a few months ago, then don't leave a shit ass comment. If you can't hear the resemblances to classic Metal and Rock when u listen to Soundgarden, then I suggest you take a closer listen and compare further down the road. Keep in mind tho when u do, that this was a new generation of music at the time. It's been influenced by the classics. And as far as AiC goes, try listening to Love, Hate, Love, and compare again.
