Soundgarden - Bones Of Birds Lyrics

Time is my friend 'til it ain't and runs out
And that is all that I have 'til it's gone
Try to build a home, bones of birds
Singing in the cold and fall to earth

Hey, sometimes she won't cry
When the smallest one is drowned
Too weak to survive probably... maybe

Try to look out through a hole in a bag
Circle above looking down, bird of prey
Try to build a home, bones of birds
Singing in the cold and fall to earth

Hey, sometimes she won't cry
When the smallest one is drowned
Too weak to survive
Too weak to survive
Too weak to survive probably... maybe

Try to build a home, bones of birds
Singing in the cold and fall to earth

Hey, sometimes she won't cry
When the smallest one is drowned
Too weak to survive probably

Hey, sometimes she won't cry
When the smallest one is drowned
Too weak to survive
Too weak to survive
Too weak to survive

    Je kiff cette chanson infiniment

  2. Zero One

In hindsight, that first verse is dark as fuck.

  3. TheMoonchild1969

Some birds regardless the feathers and the nest will not survive next winter...probably...sadly.

  4. Kevin Trotter

Incredibly ominous and creepy. God i hate that Chris Cornell is gone

  5. Anna Oakes

    Beautifully dark 🖤

Try to build a home bones of birds. Singing in the cold and fall to earth. Hey sometimes she won't cry.. probably.. maybe. When the smallest one has drowned, too weak to survive. Try to look out through a hole in the bag. Circle above, looking down, birds of prey.

Sounds like a world attacking an individual. I can relate to this feeling during by bouts with depression. Great song Chris. You are missed. Find Christ and you will find happiness.

  7. heartofglass001

Ta piosenka przenosi mnie w inny wymiar.

  8. Tal ה

I really miss you chris. R.I.P

  9. Russ Wilson

Kim Thayil is the philosophical center of this band.

  10. TYLER WILLIAMS

Very underrated dude. Nobody ever mentions this cd when soundgarden is brought up. Ive never heard a whole lot about it in general in terms of rock/metal community ever. There is some extraordinary amazingly talented songs on here. This CD was majorly slept on by ppl, when truly this album compliments the rest of there discography so well. It was a great way to go out its hard for anyone to make there last album as epic as that

    James Murphy

I I agree, the most underrated album in the last 20 years as far as I am concerned

    cec

    I agree
I think Rowing -Taree -Blood on the valley floor
along with this one are exceptional
    RIP

  11. Mr. Timebomb Man

This is such a great album Imo. Every song is awesome.

  12. Leonardo Souza

    Que temazo padre

  14. Bob Adler

To people who are like "this isn't SoundGarden" on King Animal...not sure what you mean. Artists develop and change throughout the course of their lives. They serve their fans, but in the end a lot of art is personal and may not always speak to you. You change as well so you're not necessarily going to always resonate with the same artist across time.

    Lucas Rustiguella

    Wise words.

    Alwyn Sam

Well said, Bob. Evolution is to be expected & I love that they got back together to deliver a solid album. However, parts of the album seem to suffer because of the fact that they didn't spend time as a cohesive unit, focused on the project for an extended period, unlike prior albums. Some of the songs, despite great potential, seem rather forced ( Been Away for Too Long ) or a lil' monotonous ( Non-State Actor ), there are some overwrought choruses (Taree, Bones of Birds, Black Saturday ) & bland lyrics ( Black Saturday again ). Halfway There is underwhelming. Of course, you could say I'm nitpicking 'cuz SG has set a pretty high standard for itself with long-time fans & I listen to King Animal quite often. Maybe the unrealized potential bothers me 'cuz Chris left us too soon & I still haven't gotten over it...

    Michael Service

    This song is genius.

    Alwyn Sam

@Michael ServiceIndeed. It's my fav track off King Animal. Could have used another verse though..

  15. Kenny boy

    too weak to survive. .

  16. Big ball Man

Song is very easy to learn on guitar.

  17. Gary Harkin

Rest In peace Chris. Thanks for the music

  18. Abraham Ali

RIP to the great voice of Chris Cornell.

  19. Robin Likens

Wherever Chris is, I hope he can feel the love we all have for him.

    Holy Smoke

    I'm weeping over here

    TYLER WILLIAMS

The love we have for chris cant even be measured. He was the man. He was the voice for so many ppl. Some of the ppl who criticize him fail to even realize how many lives chris might have saved with the strength he gave ppl through the relativity of his and his band(s) art.

  20. Kenny boy

    '....too weak to survive. '

    Rest easy Chris Cornell. .
no one sings like you anymore.

    thomas christopher

    Probably. maybe

  21. Kenny boy

    '....too weak to survive. .'

Rest easy Chris, no one sings like you anymore.

    Big ball Man

Not exactly the best lyric to quote lol.

  22. DM C

    This is peak Soundgarden

  23. Nohl Takahashi

Love it , like a song session with Radiohead and Chris. Thanks for this post.

  24. Matthew Cooley

I dunno. Reminds me of Paducah KY. A big boat on the river. Music projecting across the bluffs. It wasn't as if I couldn't leave. But probably, maybe.

  25. Bantz Rayder

Man ... I have to have kids one day. I think this song describes having children how I imagine it being ... very fucking scary ... but profound in a good way

  26. Lee Tuaty

This is my favorite song from Soundgarden right now, just over "the day I tried to live".

  27. Karim Otic

most underrated Album ever! this track shows all the Genius! luv it! miss you Chris...

    kaamos79

I don't know that it's underrated, really. I mean it isn't bad in any way, but the band at the point of making this album was a whole different entity to the one that made each of the previous ones... they were sober and not fighting, post middle aged, nothing to prove. The fury and the bleakness fades when you're 50 and rich and comfortable and a parent.

such a gorgeous, lulling darkness to this song...

  29. Evren Akcaglar

I discovered this song after Chris ' death ...So beautiful and meaningful to me ...Rip him ...

    Karim Otic

    me 2 ...sinply genius!

  30. Deb Normand

This sounds like old Soundgarden. Life took me away from music and I'm just now exploring new Soundgarden music. After Chris' death I couldn't listen to any of it.

  31. Echo In Miles

    What an amazing song!!

  32. TheGreaterGood80

    Please don't go Chris......

  33. Lil Bill

Chris Cornell..mountains for many. Absolutely on his element. my favorite front man vs Jimmy H. I heard what happened. It's unfortunate. unreal. 😦

  34. Joseph Calvey

    same here...

  35. Jason Hardy

As soon as I heard the news of Chris Cornell's death, this was the first song I thought of. RIP!

    Lil Bill

Jason Hardy he was my favorite front man. Absolutely fantastic. He was the man. Chris... until next time. 🤘

  36. Kevin Carey

this song has a bit of a gothic doomy feel

    Little Miss Dysthymia

"Gothic doomy feel" is pretty much Soundgarden's genre, lol.

    michavandam

    Only a little bit.

    Epitaphforyesterday

    no kidding
