I gave up on Soulfly's lyrics since Conquer because it just... didn't have the intensity or symbolism as the previous ones had - most of those didn't have much symbolism regardless. But, I am still a loyal Cavalera fan. Wish Archanel was longer, but like people on here have said, Max has progressively sounded tired in his vocals - not to mention his guitar skills have GREATLY diminished over the years. But, I still love this song from Archangel even though I think the album itself is around the same level as either the Enslaved or Savages albums - good, but not great.

I'd give this album a 7.5 or 6.5. It's an alright album, but still enjoyable to relisten to specific tracks - this one and Archangel in particular.

I wouldn't want this album for free, more less buy it.

I really enjoyed savages but this blows. I mean really blows. sepultura has way passed soulfly in every department. they are heavier more creative. I don't blame sepultura for wanting nothing to do with max. horrible horrible album. barf.

Who knows, he might be in a point of his life where the straight simple death black gore Satan fast primitive old skool speed thrash is been there done that. This track kicks ass. I just came here because of Todd Jones. By the time, Max has been appraising the "underground bands" (Such as Cattle Decapitation, Eyesburn, I Declare War, Throwdown, The Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.) Yet, my opinion is the next:

I can relate, as much of you metion that Max Cavalera in every song this gentleman makes, he composes an "energic" (what I think he with Igor and Tony Campos believe they compose) chorus with the name of the song (Remember "Biotech Is Godzilla"?).
Also, the riffs made by the same taste as if it were recycled from a past song from the past album. What I think is that Max has is the groove, but he's squeezing this fruit that has already extracted all of the juice. Me and a friend, who I can relate so much because we admire Max's work, came into this conclusion. It is sad for us that every album, even with Cavalera Conspiracy's songs, sound the same. There's nothing new unless the "world music" parts that Igor and Max compose that I really enjoy.

We love your themes expressed in the songs, but what we would like to see is a Mr. Max that plays with something different. If Mr. Cavalera wants to play thrash and death metal, he must keep checking different rhythms, as the mister is visualizing with these "underground bands" I said before with this word (yet I know they aren't anymore because they are in recognized record labels), which was the best part I admired about because I didn't expected this from a high icon as Mr. Cavalera is.

The themes Max show are delightful, don't get me wrong, nevertheless in lyrics and composition we want something more and less predictable. But I won't stop supporting the Cavalera's work. Go on, Max.

This band is essentially The Simpsons of metal. They are way past their prime. They try too hard to relive what they did in the past and end up being very boring. They have also run out of good ideas. Not to mention they have too many guest appearances because Cavalera's voice is too basic to pan out a whole song.
