I don't know how many ways I can put this. The information age DOES NOT EXIST. If you count the worthwhile contributions to the printed word since the dawn of radio and film, there is NO INFORMATION AGE TO ANY VALIDITY. Most of the worthwhile contributions are re-hash of the prior with banal scientific addition. They are fiefs to the Council of Lyons, and forever smiths to unseen Greek arguments! I decree, temporarily, the fall of the Holy Roman Empire due to an increase in crop availability, the introduction of pre-Christian information due to the invention of the printing press, the rise of Napoleon, and civil outbursts due to the inventive nature of many, thus not in the nature of blame or criminal pursuit, but due to circumstance beyond the general control. Other than that, it's all a blur of unmatched opinion and weak testimony...they are the assarting ritters non-caveat in a wave of free will and chaos!

I love sonic youth since a decade and listened to this song many times before, but it just hit me harder than ever before. Always thought this song was kinda cool, nothing more. This now was an experience on a spiritual level 😄 amazing how a band can do that with you.

Love seeing the Lee Ranaldo love fest in these comments. Definitely agree it's a shame he didn't get more songs, especially during the 90s era. Seemed like he got way more songs in the 80s. Would be a shame if Kim and Thurston refused to let him have more songs on the albums. But regardless, it's undeniable that his songs always stood out.

Get this picture : in my room trying to follow the bass line using an acoustic guitar with an small speaker taped to it , speaker from broken boombox, the speaker connected to the playhead entrance of the same boombox ( yeah I quit the head and use that input to connect the wires of the speaker, so you have a kind of saturated / distorted) sound. Primitive poor bastard with a bit of imaginatioin. I hated the acoustic guitar, so I needed electricity. Hahaha.

I first heard this song on Toy Machine's Jump Off A Building skate video when I was ten or eleven. I think it played over Ed Templeton's scene. It's the reason I got into Sonic Youth years later and is still one of my favorites. Lee has some bangers, I love Wish Fulfillment and Karen Revisited.

Everybody is talking about Lee's voice, and I agree, but J's voice is also super cool (I am speaking about J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr., he is on backvocals, you can hear him very well in the beginning of the third verse at 2:20)

John lennon had a few songs that are considered influential, but for me the beatles were a cash spinner, quite dull frankly
