Son Little - O Me O My Lyrics
O me O my, O me O my
O me O my, frozen in time
O me O my
Feel the death grip of fear wrap a claw around your petrified heart
You wanna run and make a brand new start
On Mars
Feels like everywhere you go around the globe another terror awaits, yeah
And no matter what you change, all the pain and everything stays the same
O my
O me O my (O me O my), O me O my (O me O my)
O me O my, frozen in time
O me O my (O me O my)
Feels my body going numb and paranoia take control of my mind, yeah
With the pressure on my neck, this ain't no crocodile tears in my eyes, nah
Feels like everywhere you go around the globe another terror awaits, yeah
And no matter what you change, all the pain and everything stays the same
O my
O me O my (O me O my), O me O my (O me O my)
O me O my, Strange fruit on the vine
O me O my (O me O my), O me O my (O me O my)
O me O my, Blind leading the blind
O me O my (O me O my)
O me O my (O me O my), O me O my (O me O my)
O me O my, yeah

Son Little O Me O My Comments
Heard the song at a Denny's this weekend; girl behind the counter was singing along with it. Put my phone up to the speaker and hit Shazam to find out who it was. Fantastic feel--a fusion of classic, I'd even say pre-Motown soul/R&B with jazzy, almost British '90s pop overtones in some areas. Though, one could rightly argue that much of British pop, from the '60s onward, flowed from soul/R&B. And, then there seems to be some of Ray Charles traveling rythms in there--perhaps with a bit of early Marvin Gaye groove as someone mentioned earlier. But, as much of a throw-back as it might seem, it still manages to find a unique niche and stay fresh. It's different, instantly recognizable. Love it!
