Soilwork - Spectrum Of Eternity Lyrics

I feel I’m done with this shell of mine
Separated from the one I knew
I’ll kill every minute on hold
While the ocean brings me back to life
I’ve lived, I’ve breathed, I’ve learned to be deceived
Sheltered for what it’s worth, forced to make it work
I feel I’m chosen to see what others haven’t seen
It’s not a tragedy, it’s just reality but how it makes me believe

Now I see a spectrum of eternity - The remedy is yours
A thousand of demands, a never-ending glance of fate… Of fate
I’m yours… I’m yours

Three years since I was reborn, a brutal insight
Never knew it could do so much to stir my soul up
It’s been relentless, I’ve felt deprived of my own life
Stuck on the other side of who I was enlightened by

Embrace me, for one last time, take me there
Something’s out there and it won’t leave me astray

Embrace me, for one last time, take me there…
Something’s out there and it won’t leave me astray
A thousand of demands, a never-ending glance of fate… Of fate
I’m yours… I’m yours

(and they even nailed it back in Distortion Sleep!)

  13. Velvet Rain

It saddens me to read so many negative comments about the video.
This video is one of the most emotional and moving things I've seen...feeling sorry for you who cannot sense it

So, what sense is it? Tell us, please

  21. Tr4sh1nP3ace

I don't know, if anyone can remember a (I believe German?) game called "Biolab" and it's predecessor "Physikus". Both are point and click adventures, used to teach children around 16 physics and biology. They had a pretty similar artstyle to this video...

  22. milleosz

    Embrace meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  23. Sonny

Just getting my daily reminder of why soilwork is the best band out there.

Also fuck megadeth for stealing this amazing drummer, can't blame him though it's an insane paylift to do normie metal.

  24. Steve Sullivan

1:02 "NOW I SEE THIS FUCKER ROCK A DIN-O-SAUR!!"         1:34 "Three years since I washed a Mime, a brutal 'N SYNC, never girl, eat the girl, some mush to stir my salt up!"          This song's a trip man!

  25. Gre3eM

Well, this is what people saw before astronomers made proof that earth is not flat.

  26. Khristian Bolano

the video is about going beyond your limits and beliefs, it's a change. and that's the exact thing the song's about, it's not that difficult to understand, even if the video seems to be not related

  27. Andreas Damberg

i love this song!! The blastbeat is sooooooo nice!

  28. Doxa

    This is FUCKING gold

  40. Sd Ny

It's amazing to me how big of homos Metal fans have become. Instead of enjoying the music. Finding common ground. They choose to argue about genres. It's pathetic cause the bands don't want to be labeled as 1 thing. Soilwork is a great band. Enough said.

    Elijah Taylor

    BIG gay

  41. Tyestor

lmfao, this video reminds me of light the torch's silly video.

  42. Sd Ny

It's actually 1 of thier better videos, which isn't saying much. Still musically & vocally can't get much better then Soilwork.

  43. Sd Ny

Great double album. Is good from beginning to end. Soilwork is such a talented band. This was a melodic deathcore classic. Even though it's not old. It still is one of thier best albums. I was a huge fan of Natural born Chao's, Steelbath & figure # 5 but this is so well put together. I like the new album too. This 1 is just insane.

    Hari Menon

I'll agree with you on the Six Feet Under part and you're probably right. Current Deathcore kinda sucks IMO, but early Deathcore - probably not. Either way, I look at it all as extreme metal and I like some of them and I don't like some of them - irrespective of genre.

    Sd Ny

+Hari Menon Dude I am 38, my idea of deathcore is a little different. I think it's silly too argue about genre. Bottom line is it'd a great album. We both like them, so call it what you want. I know you thinking of bands like Job for a cowboy. That's new school deathcore. One of the bands that I was in in the late 90's did hardcore with death parts & Cannibal Corpse type vocals but Hatebreed type breakdowns. We where called deathcore back then. All out war good friends of mine. If you listen too into the killing fields they have death riffs & lyrics but hardcore breakdowns & blast beats. I don't like new deathcore. But original deathcore, much like original Metalcore was good. See I think of Metalcore like God Forbid, Shadows fall or even Killswitch. These young kids think asking Alexandria is Metalcore. I consider them crap.

    Hari Menon

You totally read my mind when you mentioned 'Jobs for a Cowboy'. BTW I'm 41 and have been into all forms of metal since I was 8. However you are correct on the definition of Deathcore. I've been listening to Six feet Under, Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death, Carcass, God Dethroned, Obituary, Entombed, Parkway Drive et all just looking at them as metal. I agree that this genre-labeling is silly though I'm guilty as charged in that department :).

I totally love Killswitch and Shadows Fall - Haven't listened much to God Forbid. But we both (and many more) totally love Soilwork and I love the band even if they keep changing their musical styles as it's all damn good metal.

I envy you for having the luck to be in a band/bands. :) - One of my wishes/fantasies since I discovered metal (in all forms).

PS - I do need to check out All Out War - Thanks for mentioning it. Wonder how the fuck I missed out on them.

    Necrotic Reaper

I would say Soilwork is Melodeath with some Prog. I think Heaven Shall Burn would better fit the term Melodic Deathcore. Out of modern metalcore I would say there are few good ones. Caliban, Any Given Day, While She Sleeps, Beartooth, and Bury Tomorrow. I would also say Periphery if you like prog, and don't mind Spencer Sotello's high pitched cleans.

    Necrotic Reaper

Haven't really heard much on the deathcore side of things, but Carnifex's new Blackned Deathcore style is pretty good.

  44. Bryan Lenihan

    This video makes no sense

    Sd Ny

+Bryan Lenihan Not a fan of the living infinite? As a music fan & long time musician in heavy bands original or cover. I write songs & can appreciate the talent it takes to put together a killer double album.

    Bryan Lenihan

@Sd Ny haven't really listened to it i need to get more into them

    Sd Ny

+Bryan Lenihan Yeah not many bands can pull off a double album but they did. The new stuff is good but I highly recommend Natural born. Chao's & this 1 the living infinite. Not like figure 5 but the vocals & choruses are still great. I just like how complex those are. Check them out & i am gonna check out Stabbing the drama again.

    Bryan Lenihan

@Sd Ny ok i will the crestfallen is a excellent song

    Hari Menon

Good call Sd. Those are great and amazing albums.

Surely you're not serious on that one

    Hari Menon

    No way.

  58. Shawnee Mccomb

    lyrics:

    I feel a gun
     With the shell unmined
Seperated from the world I knew
     I kill every minute alone
World used to be too bad to lie
     I've lived, I've breathed
     I've learned to be decieved
Try to own what it's worth
     Force to make it work
I feel, I'm chosen to see
     What others have not seen
     Is it eternally?
     Is it reality?
     Well, I'm making alive
Now I see the spectrum of eternity
     (The venomous scars)
     The thousand of demands
A never ending glance of pain, of pain
     On you (On you)
Three years since the worst were behind
     A brutal insight
     Never knew, it could kill
So much disturb for so long
     It's been relentless
I feel deprived of my own lies
     Stuck on the other side
     All the emotions lying behind.
     Embrace me
For one last time take me there
     Something's out there
And it won't lead me astray
     -Solos-
     Embrace me
For one last time take me there
     Embrace me
For one last time take me there
     Something's out there
And it won't lead me astray
     The thousand of demands
A never ending glance of pain, of pain
     On you (on you)

    Khristian Bolano

    This is so wrong LOL

    Cakeatron

@Khristian Bolano Are the lyrics wrong? If they are would you be so kind as to point us in the direction of the correct ones?

    Khristian Bolano

"I feel I’m done with this shell of mine

    Just google them lol

  59. Vatian

Sounds a lot like Princess Aurora by Luca Turilli.

    7dayspking

hhh ok......well I fail to see the similarities....I guess the Rythmic work sort of takes my focus....I really dislike it and therefore I find it distracting.

    Mike Fougere

Just the simple melody during the intro for this track. But that's where the similarities begin and end.

    7dayspking

@Mike Fougere Fair enough....I respect that you kept your cool and were straight on point......I will gladly admit that you were certainly a better man than I in this particular Discussion....I had assumed you were like the others instantly where as you've displayed to me that you were looking at things with minimal bias.....

    HellHammerOfDoom

+Vatian Now I know why the intro sounds so familiar. Thank you sir!

    P-Jo Art

The intro theme is *very* similar to Princess Aurora, I noticed it right away and searched comments on this. I was wondering if maybe they both were inspired from some classical or folk melody, as Rhapsody/Luca Turilli often do that. But I am not knowledgeable enough to know for sure. Anyone?

  60. Corey Crossman

woah first time listening to soil work good song

  64. My Minox Beard

This is exactly what metalcore should be, not that pansy bollocks.

    Kizza

    @7dayspking no.

    7dayspking

@MrShippopi Because 'no' is a valid argument.

    Aaron Hooper

@7dayspking 'Heavy' is subjective and can't be used to describe genres. Go listen to some At The Gates and tell me this isn't melodic death metal.

    7dayspking

@Aaron Hooper Heavy was in reference to the sheer amount of distorted as opposed to clean guitar riffs........The only 'At the Gates' album this really resembles....is 'Slaughter The Soul'.....which wasn't a Melodic Death Metal album anyway.

    My Minox Beard

all i can hear is "fucking wah wah wah" from everyone. boring. fucking youtube twats.

  65. Julian Derczynski

This vid reminds me of bioshock, nice song.

  69. Patrick van Gelder

When using my imagination, it`s a great story that`s been told here.

  70. Colin Betts

Do I even need to hear the rest of the album? Best song right here.

    Colin Betts

    Good answer :)

    Mark Zailord

this album is badass from beginning to end

    Dead Eyes

    @Mark Zailord
    totally true

    Nathan Greil

Jason'soutdoors The only good song? Are you fucking deaf? This cd has more amazing songs on it then most bands make in their entire careers!! Seriously..at least 10 of the 20 songs are epic perfection!

    Corey Walker

Colin Betts it is by far one of my favorites

  71. Undamen

I like the song but worst music video ever. EVER

    Red Bean Factory

mmyeah.... kinda TOTALLY agree with you on that one. I was sure/desperately hoping it was a joke video. Like come on... what the hell was that?

    NecrophiliacUnicorn

@Red Bean Factory It was unique, interesting, and it actually told a story that has answered a strange question I had about the album. Why does the music and titling sound like space, like flying in the endless universe, and why is the artwork and cover of the album all nautical themed? This confused me for a while about what they were going for, but then I watched this video and it connected them. This video was literally the missing link in my confusion about the album's theme. A man sailing off the edge of the earth, into space, to explore the universe. Everything makes sense to me now, at least in my interpretation. Watching this video blew me away, and I'm not hyperbolizing at all.

    DoubleMe

check out our 0$ budget videos on our channel.would be cool to know what you guys think

  72. Skyn Musstash

what an awkward cg music video. makes me think of I'm Blue (Ba Da Bee Da Ba Die)...

  75. andrzej wysocki

that planet is so improbable, its epic

  76. Chuck White

In my opinion live videos are the best. i.e. Def Leppards Pour Some Sugar On Me or Panteras Walk. Videos that capture a band putting their all into bringing the song to life and not all bands can do that lip synching. Some can though.

  77. Myriadman

This reminded me of the Truman Show...

  78. Pagnah

  82. Din Mamma

This is their best album since Natural Born Chaos.

  87. Stroog Outlow

    Very good!!!

  88. S Wa

I love this song but... wtf did i just watch?
I would rather watch some lip sync video

    Scienceand Reason

WTF!!!! doesn't the title of the song justify the video?

You don't really do that right, because you sound really retarded. You don't get to claim that.

    @Scienceand Reason
No, your name does not fit your avatar.

  89. Ben Schepers

In my album top10 of the year, as always when they bring a new one out

  90. Pat Bowden

The video is awesome, beats the shit out of the lip sync bullshit that every other band does.

  91. Jan Wieczorek

    Czysta zajebistość!

  92. Haesty

    Bioshock 4? :D
    Great song from awesome album

  93. Bill C-16

Why the fuck is Soilwork's guitaring so fucking quiet compared to the rest of the song, it would sound monumentally better if the guitars were louder.

  94. Lux666tiamat

    Big Dady from BioShock

  95. Pinù Puma

i love soilwork, i realy like this song, but the video is so bad....seems like an old video in CG of 90' years... like blue of eifel 65

    Ceruliver

At least it's better than just another live video or the classic "band in mum's bnasement" videos.

    Velvet Rain

    Lol
This video is one of the strongest emotional things I've seen in my life

  96. Bohouš

    Melodic Death!!

  97. Josué Ramírez

The initial part sounds like Luca Turilli's "Princess Aurora" mmmm suspicious

    Jon Nitti

    kinda but not really

  98. Gabriela Phalempin

I'm finding out Soliwork now and I'm quite enjoying it! It seems to me though that the voices are not quite as "traditional" Death Metal. Never mind the vídeos...I've seen worse and what it really matters is the music. We're not Beyoncé fans!

    Gabriela Phalempin

Can't wait to see them in VAGOS!!!

  99. Techotron

@Artem Gordinsky of course it doesnt look as good as you expect. its a Death Metal band budget, not a hollywood movie budget.
