dont get why people say they're tool clones, fraktal is the only song I'd imagine adam playing guitar on other than that they have their own themes and sounds, listen to lucidity, the words, ideate, paragon, and the majority of their songs dont sound like tool to me

and yes drumming in their songs can sound like Danny carey's, are they not allowed to take influence from a great sounding band and incorporate it to their own unique sound?

All the songs you mentioned are their newer stuff, which is pretty cool, but the thing with this first album is that it's really clear they are taking influence from tool in basically everything, from the composing style, to the guitar tune, drum sound etc.
Even their own drummer once described Tool as being more a "genre" than an influence to them.

Sounds like Lateralus era Tool and this one has one of those fractal timings like Schism. Not saying I don't like it. I love the drumming.

They are good because they are a plagiarism of Tool

Plagiarism would mean they're trying to pass a tool song as their own. You might as well have said that Metallica plagiarized Iron Maiden, or vice versa. Or say the same thing about A7x because they did a cover of an Iron Maiden song
Or that Mozart plagiarized Bach.

I think it's pretty fucking clear where their influence comes from lol
