Sodom - After The Deluge Lyrics

[1) The Announcement]

It was a time when tyrants ruled the Earth
Mankind's malice showed no remorse
His self created empire troubled him highty
All pursuit of honor was so mighty

A father of three sons, called Noah, appeared
Inspired by God and religious
He shall be rescued from all that wanted flesh
Flying with sons, women, and beasts

[2) ...The beginning... (Invasion of the deluge)]

Noah realized all to the protector's command
Alive on the ground
Fourty days and fourty nights
It shall be rain in the land of promise
On the seventh day heaven's gates get open
Waters covered even great mountains
All what a living odem possessed, died
And got exterminate

[3) Well of deep get clog, rain sink away]

The waters decrease
Noah open the windows of his wooden ark
As the ground dry up he leave the dark
With all the living creatures
Increased by Himself, fulfilled the Earth
Fear and terror turn away

[4) God said:]

I will never more, cursed the Earth
For mankind's will
Their thoughts are evil in their youth
All I've done I repent
So long as Earth lived
Shouldn't stop sowing and crop

Frost and Heat
Summer and Winter
Day and Night

Who spilled human blood
That blood gets spilled by human being

...And Noah realized all
To the protector's command

Sodom After The Deluge Comments

    Slayer - Crypts of Eternity....

I knew that riff sounded so familiar.

  2. R.... G....

I don't care what anyone says, Obsessed by Cruelty is and always will be an awesome album

I love it when im waiting for the vocals to kick in, and out of nowhere JAFNKJAFINAFONARF

this song is really excellent, a true anthem! unfortunately it is one of the only listenable songs of Obsessed by Cruelty, which contains mostly amateurish and chaotic speed/proto-black metal songs! Bathory, Celtic Frost or Kreator were able to make their early works both extreme and musically good, but Sodom had to wait until the great Persecution Mania to reach the elite of 80s extreme metal!

Kaseb Mohamed I disagree. Raw as this album is, it's entirely listenable, especially if you're used to very harsh, rough stuff. It's no worse than Welcome to Hell

    K.... M....

It's not a question of being used to harsh stuff, I listen to Bathory's The Return or Napalm Death's Scum which are, in their own way, harsher than Obsessed By Cruelty! The problem is exclusively musical, they were unable to be both harsh and musically inspired, most songs in this record are repetitive and clumsy, to sound extreme is good when you have enough ideas, Bathory's The Return has many brillant moments although being harsher than anything released back then, and for me it's still one of the rawest records ever released! For me the decisive moment in Sodom's career is Frank Godzik's coming, in Persecution Mania the band was like transformed, although retaining many elements of its early musical style. But everything sounded just better, and both Persecution Mania and Agent Orange are fine moments of German thrash!

@Kaseb Mohamed Exumers first album was also amazing

I had the cassette version, and though it listed this song, it ended with "Volcanic Slut." Thanks for posting this! \m/

This isn't on my version, it has a song of the same name that's like a little spooky bit of organ and demonic vocals. I wish it had this kickass black thrash beast instead.

The tracklist is totally messed up. "After the Deluge" is not on this version.
    It's:
    01: Intro
    02: Deathlike Silence
    03: Brandish the Sceptre
    04: Proselytism Real
    05: Equinox
    06: Volcanic Slut
    07: Obsessed by Cruelty
    08: Fall of majesty Town
    09: Nuctemeron
    10: Pretenders to the Throne
    11: Witchhammer

Kelly Moon This is from the Steamhammer release, aka the 2nd release. You have the original american release.

thx for correcting ;) I heared that Tom himself doesn't understand the different versions and what "went wrong" in '86. Hopefully, there will be a remastered Release of the whole Obsessed by Cruelty in the future.

  11. X.... ....

Wulf of course went to Kreator, where he didn't record anything, just appeared on the back of the Pleasure to Kill album and maybe played some shows before being replaced. Of course Assator was replaced by Blackfire, who also went to Kreator ...

  12. X.... ....

Actually on this song (and this re-recorded version of the album) the guitar was done by Uwe Christophers (Assator) . Michael Wulf (Destructor) left after the recording of the first version, which unfortunately was used for the CD. The re-recorded version for Steamhammer is MUCH better!

This might be my favorite song off this album!!! That riff at 2:51 is sick as fuck!

f****** epic! great solo by destructor

    R.... 1....

Guitar on this song was not by Destructor. It was by Assator. Destructor left between the initial recording and when it was re-recorded and this song added. I assume Assator had something to do with the song-writing for this track as well.
