Sneaker Pimps - Post-Modern Sleaze Lyrics

She looks ahead, she paints her toe nails red,
She's wet and wild, a typical 90's child,

She makes every move they make,
She takes everything they take,
She must be a Thelma or Louise,
She must be a post-modern sleaze

Unscrew the wine, she'll throw a party line,
Stories extreme, she's such a drama queen,
Cries through the night, she choked on Marlboro lites,
Pure charm and grace, she hates her pretty face,

She makes every move they make,
She takes everything they take,
She must be a Thelma or Louise,
She must be a post-modern sleaze

Straw spun from gold, she craves a tortured soul,
All doom and gloom, she plays an open wound,

She takes every scene they steal,
She fakes every pain they feel,
She must be a Thelma or Louise,
She must be a post-modern tease.

Agree with the comments. Annoyingly I got the original album when it came out but like many things in 90's I leant the disc to someone never to be seen again. When I came to replace disc or download it's always got the other album cover. The original is the one to have. Post modern sleaze is not a patch on this, and 6 underground is also not as good. I think a couple of other songs may be remixed also but it's a thumbs down. Shame as many reworked/remixed tunes are often an improvement but this album should have been left alone. They should release the other mixes on a deluxe version of the album along with perhaps a few live recordings or tracks that didn't make the final cut. Best of both worlds then for anyone who prefers the newer albums mixes. Being down to personal taste some of you will prefer the other mixes at least that way we would all be catered for.

  6. L.... S....

    Her voice is sooooooo mesmerizing..

  7. S.... ....

This track is legend, so pissed that Spotify does not have this album.. the version it has cannot hold candle this!

    S.... P....

    Agreed. 100%

They can't host it legally because as with "How Do" from the same album, the SPs were found to have illegally sampled content from the film "The Wicker Man". For this song those samples start at 2m 50s. Banning those songs is foolish though; much better to allow them to continue but to just send the copyright fees or a fair share of them to the legal owners.

The easy way around all that nonsense is to just buy the CD version of Becoming X. Or the vinyl LP if that floats your boat.

  13. A.... R....

    This song is very addictive.

  14. D.... E....

What a drag that. Kellie decided to quit music after this classic debut.

    D.... E....

Ron Forte wow, that doesn’t sound biased and ignorant at all

    D.... E....

@Abigail Eldritch He is right though.

    Kelli was garnering the attention.

Plus the group added her because they didn't want to sound like faggots.

A bunch of guys singing about girly stuff?

    D.... E....

    Michael Ross dude grow up

    D.... E....

@Abigail Eldritch I was qouting the group dipshit

    D.... E....

I have no idea what TRULY happened but like yeah, I prefer her voice over that other guy’s, but I still kinda like their other stuff too

  15. T.... ....

    <3 Kelli Ali <3

  16. c.... ....

90s for sure. Great time to be a kid, but I'm also looking through the tainted glass of nostalgia.

  17. U.... P....

  18. E.... B....

  26. K.... B....

    Kelli's voice is hauntingly beautiful

  27. E.... H....

For a better day. For the past. Even if your not old enough, you should miss the 90's.

    E.... H....

You mean should not miss the 90s?

  28. H.... ....

60's and 70's awesome decades musically , 80's it took a nose dive , 90's it rebounded , 00's nose dived again and its been generally bad (with a few exceptions) ever since. Those days when people would just try different things and see what comes up are gone , everything has become formulaic , standardized . Computer algorithyms did this to us.

    H.... ....

What? The 80s had some fucking incredible music.

    H.... ....

The 60's were poor, the 70's had Heavy Metal, the 80's had some of the best music ever, the 90's were still going strong but YES, then the decline set in.

  29. G.... G....

    This is great...

  30. L.... Y....

    A typical 90's child...

    L.... Y....

    She's wet and wild...

  31. E.... W....

    E.... W....

    I miss the 70's.

  34. 0.... ....

Kelli Ali, Your amazing .. love your voice & cherish your music X

  35. T.... W....

nice, original dont like the orchestra version that is on some cd's

    T.... W....

That version also skips the best vocal rip in this song. I HATE IT
