Adore this song. It was described perfectly in The Complete Motown Singles Vol. 8: 1968 as Jamerson's bass being a mountain and Smokey's voice as a cloud that floats around it.

"much better off" is one of the few tracks that plays clean. i'd love to find a clean copy of this album someday.

Great song, I've never seen that label, but it was from the LP "Special Occasion". It has two different variations of the Tamla label, the one that you've showed has the Tamla Globes logo which was the original pressing, but the second pressing might have the square Tamla logo. That rare pressing with the Tamla globes was kinda late unti lmid-1968 when they changed their design. You might find copies that have the square Tamla logo on the label someplace else.
