Smithereens, The - One Look At You Lyrics

One look at you and I knew
That we'd be together
You disappeared and I thought
You were gone forever

On and on I see your face
Everywhere and every place
On and on I see your face
One look at you
And I can see everything

Then you appeared and I knew
I could love forever
You said to me we were lost
In a dream together

On and on I see your face
Everywhere and every place
On and on I see your face
One look at you
And I can see everything

You disappeared and I thought
You were gone forever
Then you appeared and I knew
I could love forever

On and on I see your face
Everywhere and every place
On and on I see your face...now
One look at you
And I can see everything

One look, look at you
One look, look at you
One look, look at you
One look, look at you

One look at you and I can see everything

  3. G.... M....

I just realized watching this video toward the end that they are playing on a boat. That would be one cool concert gig! Wish I was there

  4. D.... S....

The person who disliked this is a total asshat.

  5. J.... J....

the Smithereens were old school you had to have some talent to survive in the music industry and not just look like a pretty boy or dress like a slut like music today singers can't sing and muscians can't play and they are stars.I will take The Smithereens over more famous crappy bands from the 1980's-90's any day.Pat passing was a huge loss may he rest in peace such a great songwriter he still had it on this last album!

  6. s.... ....

Beatles influence pouring in here. Bless Pat, long live The Smithereens!

    s.... ....

I hear and feel a serious 'Day Tripper' vibe with this song, from the opening riff onward

  7. S.... R....

    BEATLES+WHO=SMITHEREENS

  8. G.... ....

    Great!
    RichiefromBoston on vocals....

  11. P.... J....

I was in high school in the 1980's and I was never into the hair bands. The groups that stood out to me were the ones that didn't follow the latest trends and did their own thing. The Smithereens were one of those bands. Got to love that they are still out there kicking ass on stage. :)

  12. S.... P....

The Smithereens don't look like typical rock stars. They look like regular guys that You could sit down and have a beer with and shoot the breeze.

    S.... P....

+Steve Paul So were The Beatles - Their songs are heavily influenced.

  13. k.... P....

seeing them tomorrow night once again in NH.......always flawless.

    k.... P....

+kringles Paul If they were the house band at Tupelo, I'd go every week.

  14. M.... R....

So Cool ! That clean poppy melodic sound these guys make just makes me want to party like at 20 something year old again. We need a new disc - Please !!!

  15. r.... d....

    still a great band

  16. J.... M....

Killer song and this band keeps going ON AN ON!

  17. L.... B....

I love the vocals.  My heart melts when I hear the singer express himself.

    L.... B....

Linda Jim's late wife Betty one said that Pat had the voice that would melt a woman's heart. I agree.

  18. K.... N....

I'd just like to say that I'm a metal head, and have always been, but like most kids who grew up in the early 80's, but the Smithereens have been transcendent for me, and always will be.
I remember my young days in the early 70's before I reached adulthood in the 80's, when 60's era music was making a comeback as it approached it's 20th anniversary mark.
A lot of it was really good. And it reminds me of those old days when old shows like Batman, Lost In Space, The Munsters and The Monkees were always on some New York station or pre-cable UHF station.  Ah, pre-cable days...

More importantly, a real musician respects ALL genres, and on that note, the Smithereens have been just as much a part of my listening experience as any 80's era thrash metal band or NWOBHM band. I wish this fine band many more years!

  19. p.... ....

They played a street fair in Hackensack this past weekend. Never heard this song before. It's just like all their others, great. The guys were really personable as well, if you get the chance, go see them live.

  20. A.... M....

Their sound remains true! Love it!

  21. A.... ....

This is still the great sound they had back in the 80's. Woo Hoo I will have to buy this one. See YouTube can sell music!

  22. n.... ....

fuck! i didn't know this lot were still going. Oh well off i go for a little trip to Amazon.

  23. W.... C....

Just heard this song on Love FM Fukuoka, Japan, Great Song, feels like the early 60's

  24. B.... ....

i know these guys, they are great guys. pat, jimmy and dennis, great guys

  25. K.... ....

That is a sad statement. The fact that these guys aren't some bunch of pretty boys prevents them from having this "hit." Fucked up, no?

  26. s.... ....

What a great song! These guys were always good, but technology brings the recordings into the present. If they were 25 years old, this would be a hit!

  27. F.... ....

    Yes! Correct

  28. H.... S....

Status Quo are great too, but youll never see them in America. I had to go to Canada to see them play a couple years ago. The Zionist matrix of power controls most forms of mainstream media including the music industry. Everything which is mass produced is scripted and packaged to meet certain expectations set forth by trends.

    H.... S....

You can't see a British band in America because of the Zionist matrix? You seriously believe that a secret network of Jews prevents Status Quo from touring in the U.S.

  29. F.... ....

    'The Smithereens' to the Americans;
are what the 'Status Quo' are to the British.

    F.... ....

    quizpubbob I love them both!

  30. F.... ....

    Good music.

  31. 2.... ....

these guys are so much fun in concert

  32. G.... D....

Hey! They taint dead yet... yet.

Cool song. Saw them in 1990 in Augusta Georgia in a little Podunk of a place. They rocked it.
Twenty two frickin' years later and they still got it. And too, it looks like they got a lot more, um, bigger. Yeah that's is, bigger.

Keep rockin', or whatever the kids are calling it nowadays.

  33. r.... ....

One and one is three. That's how easy baby, it's gonna be.

  34. J.... T....

Rediscovered these guys recently. Bought Especially for you and Green Thoughts. Two great rock and roll records. Glad to see they're still doing their thing.

  35. f.... r....

Oh Man! The best powerpop song in the last decade!! A winner!!

  36. D.... J....

I didn't realize i was being recorded! I would have at least smiled ! LOL!

  37. J.... ....

AWESOME!!! For the WIN!! When's the Blu-Ray disc compilation of 'Reens videos coming out?? Wish I could have been one of the fans featured in this vid!
