Smithereens, The - A World Of Our Own Lyrics
When the world just keeps on bringing you down
You can call my name and I'll be around
I will try my best to never leave you alone
When we're here inside with nothing to do
I will tell them all to please just leave us alone
You and I, we live inside the world of our own
Just a lonely girl that nobody knew
Since the day we met, it's just me and you
You and I, we live inside the world of our own
People come and go, they rise and they fall
And the lives they lead mean nothing at all
You and I, we live inside the world of our own
To the end of time inside the world of our own
Girl, only you will survive
Won't they back out and leave us alone
We're just two people who live
With a personal view of our own
When the world just keeps on dragging you down
You can call my name and I'll be around
You and I, we live inside the world of our own
When we're here inside with nothing to do
Baby, I feel fine just being with you
To the end of time inside the world of our own
You and I will live inside the world of our own
You and I will live inside the world of our own

Smithereens, The A World Of Our Own Comments
A great song to start your day to, especially if you can apply some volume to it
This is the best song on CD
this song does sound like Green Thoughts era Smithereens . a great last album by the band sounds like the old days!
please come back to la to play again for us!!!
the best!!!
Boy, Thrilla managed to capture Mike's bass tone from "Only a Memory" perfectly!
This just may be the best Smithereens song ever, and that's saying something!
Agreed!
I replied above that I think it's the best song on this CD.
2011 was my favorite album of 2011 and I still can't stop listening to it. The songs on this album are just so classic and timeless in every way.
Some of Thrilla's bass licks here remind me of Mike's from "Only A Memory"
@SomethingReal1119 And I LOVE the lyrics; they speak to me for some reason.
Great tune, great band. When the drums come in at :57 I think of "Only a Northern Song" by the Beatles for a split sec.
Fantastic like entire album!!

i love the smithereens !! long live rock!!
Wow..... Only 375 views? Are you kidding me? This song kicks A!
