I know people are hurting after the shootings in Ohio and El Paso. This is our time to shine the light of Jesus.

I sure a lot of people in the comment section say how they hope that the two gunmen will rot in Hell but I honestly hope that before they pulled the trigger on themselves that they accepted Christ and repented for what they had done so that they could enter Heaven experience God's love in it's fullest.

Even though I am an atheist, I have always thought this was a wonderful song. It's written very well, it conveighs a message, an idea that even though I don't subscribe to it, over a billion people do. Even without it's religious nature, there is still real meaning here, it speaks to the human experience. The vocals are simply amazing and the insturmentals are also very well done.

I also so connected to Rachel Joy Scott, and wishing all were still alive, when I read Rachel's Tears.
I visited it near the 20-year anniversary....and guys, I can't tell you the emotion I felt when I visited for the first time.

I never payed much attention to the lyrics til now, I had no idea what it was even about..

She actually wasn't the one who said yes.

Everybody thought it was cassie. Actually Eric Harris said "peekaboo" before murdering her although he most likely knew of her faith since she was an active Christian, but it was another student that had been wounded and when they said "yes" Eric Harris just walked away leaving them to die. I do not know the name but that is confirmed fact

Katana Gaia it was Valeen Schnurr I believe who was in the library with cassie and was heard praying "oh dear God don't let me die" and the gun man asked her and she said yes and survived and people thought it was cassie. I don't think Rachel Scott even had any dialog with the shooters since she was on the grass knoll. Her brother says she was asked but I don't think he was there. There are more accounts of others students being asked but I think they all survived

I feel ya. I was going too. I do remember it being a crazy time in the world. I mean the Oklahoma city bombing, then columbine, and soon after 9/11

That and I had more pressing matters in my own life, at least in my opinion at the time. I was in pretty bad situations when I was a child. I had family a block from the school at the shooting. An aunt and an uncle who opened his church doors and never closed or left the next week.

Honestly it makes no difference to me whether or not that incident ever actually occurred. If you read her story you'll realise there's a lot more to her life than just that one thing. Regardless of whether or not she was actually asked, we all know what she would have said. Her life was already enough of an example to begin with that the exact details surrounding her death aren't as important.

Eric crouched under the table Cassie and another girl were hiding under, balancing on the balls of his feet, pointed the barrel of his shotgun at Cassie’s head and said “peekaboo” and shot her (since he was holding his shotgun with one hand, the force of the gun flying back broke his nose). She died instantly, as did Rachel Scott who was shot in the head outside on the lawn and was the first person to die. There was no confrontation at all, you fucking Christians need to stop jerking yourselves off and pushing a false narrative and your own propaganda onto Columbine.
