Smashing Pumpkins Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts) Comments
  1. Willian Melo

Good music! Now that's Smashing Pumpkins!
    Punk + Gothic + psychedelia + Rock n Roll
Strong guitar with clean rageres. Cold stomach!

    Hug from Brazil

This guys must really love what they make, the proof is they still around making us thrill with there bass, guitar, drums , lyrics and voice! Still remember the day they performed at Portugal, O'Porto! They where in this shooping center to eat! I was so happy to see them but without the courage to reach them out and say thanks! Hope they know! Thanks from the north of Portugal !!!

  6. Shipwreck Motel

    SP forever!!

  7. falsefive

This feels like if "1979" was written in the late afternoon, about the same feelings, but if Billy was happy this time. I think the best I can do as a fan is to hope he's happy and enjoy this sound and song. Hope you all are and do too!

  8. Haydn West

Beautiful song about what it's like to be Gen X.....Where in the Middle of two giant generations and we're Ghosts...

  24. Leitmotiv Officiel

A good 1979 vibe here and always this special pumpkins touch for pop songs.

  25. carryyou

    such a good lyric writer

  26. Jane Ross

Really digging this one. It's got that drone-happenstances-into-major-sevenths thing going, skipping between the 3 and the 4 like that, lovely sour tones to evoke a wistful tint. :) Always liked that aspect so much and quite signiature to the Pumpkins. Lovely track.

  27. jojo M

I always get lost in the hum drum of my life these days and I hear this and I feel my youth.!

  28. Lucas Romero

lindo disco este , aca demuestra que la voz de Corgan sigue igual !

    Y4123

@not there bitch this isn't Nine Inch Nails

  35. ZeroEight

IMHO - 1979 was about adolescence and nostalgia and becoming an adult.
Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts) is about mid-life crisis.
    Change my mind.

  36. Mathias Rozas

    Hermoso csm

  37. Brian Blackley

So new, yet so familiar. Reminds me of the past while being new. Nicely done, SP. One of your best.

  38. Wurm

I swear this sounds like if Heroes by David Bowie played at the start of a movie instead of the end. It's probably the guitar.

  39. Bonnie H

Did Billy have a computer write and compose this song? Or did he run the original lyrics through google translate?

Don't get me wrong i love it but it has an inhuman quality to it.

    RAS 123

Bonnie H speak English....computer , wizards in humane quality translation robot translation blah blah blah... what and the hell are you saying...

  40. TJay Da TrUth

    Billy corgan 🔥🔥🔥

  59. Shadow Knight

Wow just heard this song and now I know why I’m just now hearing it.... way for one of the more original bands in rock to come out with a very unoriginal sounding song... smdh... way to show it’s all about the money...: billy corgin original hypocrite

  60. Caleb Custer

This song is so good, needs more views for a Pumpkins song

  61. Cathy Abogado

  62. DEV GAUR

    Blur like a rocket
    Torch like a dying sun
    Snap like a dragon
    Dive like a pelican
    Kingdoms of my kingdom come
    Skip like a prophet
    Spit like a poet’s gun
But say how long can this go on?
    Stumbling before you speak
Stunning and stunning and stunning the black
    You turn turncoat
Inward to seek out all your hopes
    It's your signals
    That hurts me most
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle, Ghosts
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle, Ghosts
    Rue like a tyrant
    Make like a valentine
    Tear like a siren
    Sulk like a sunken mine
    Kingdoms of my kingdom come
    It’s all but one, so
    Row like a felon
    Drown like a captain's son
But say how long can this go on?
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle Ghosts
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle Ghosts
    Stumbling before you speak
Stunning and stunning with canons to lead
    And tigers tight
You scan the fields, someone dies tonight
It’s tragic, but at least it’s not you
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle Ghosts
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle Ghosts
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle Ghosts
    We’re in the middle
    We’re in the middle Ghosts

  63. James Taylor

Its a trilogy of songs from 1979 to Perfect & now Silvery Sometimes . love em all

  64. Christian Lea

It reminds me of when they released 'Untitled' back on Rotten Apples just to prove to everyone they could still write songs like they used to during their more experimental era. This is further proof that even 25+ years later Billy can churn out those Lolapalooza tunes without being cringey

  65. Grim Reefer

Ive been out of the loop pumpkins-wise for a long time. Pretty much since Adore. I was around 17 by that time and life had changed almost simultaneously with the pumpkins and the sound. It morphed and was always fresh and unique with each album but adore was too much for my relatively unavailable ears. Going back, once i heard bullet with butterfly wings for the first time it was over. I went back through and researched which wasnt easy to do during an age without internet. You had to get off your ass! Im 15 and the city i was living in at the time was small so i had to recruit a college friend of mine to drive me to a music store in dallas so i could learn about the band. See what albums they had, books etc. Anything. 2 hour drive and about 150 or so dollars later (which was a fuckload of money for a 15 yr old back then) i had gish, siamese dream, pisces iscariot, mellon collie and a live performance import cd from amsterdam, a zero shirt and another shirt thats hard to describe. And small biography type book with pictures. Bought it all and went through it all, still claim the smashing pumpkins as my 2nd favorite band only behind pink floyd, purely based on those albums. Pennies, ugly, cherry...so many classics. I tore up b sides and memorized everything from listening so much. The band is etched into my every fiber but i lost touch. This song is nice and ill continue to go through the other songs. Which are much more accessible now than they were back in the day as i just explained, so why not. You have placed yourselves at my fingertips once again. Thanks billy corgan...a true legend

  66. 21innocentbystander

Mastering's unbearable. Also why did they shut comments off Knights of Malta? I think I know.

    msj56

I love the Pumpkins but I can't stand Knights of Malta

  67. Marcos J

    Old SP back!

  68. Loup

There is only one thing that anooys me about this song: What does "Stunning the black" means ? It sounds a little odd.

  69. James Taylor

Love this song. Its typically dreamy..

  70. Godof Spacetime

This is the only truly great song on the new record, it kills me to say it. Solara is pretty good. But this song feels genuinely inspired. And I can’t say that about the rest..

  71. Ramuhcho Ramuhcho

Best smashing pumpkins song in a long time. Been a fan since Mellon Collie and this song makes me smile, reminds me of the good ‘old days.

  72. Ciro Campese

That drum plate in sync with the guitar...just perfect! Welcome back Pumpkins, waiting for you in Firenze Rocks 2019

  73. Joey Wall

I feel very much like my old self when I hear this.

    My real self.

    Tom Raith

I love this, and know what you mean.

So is James ping ponging with A Perfect Circle or was he just a temporary member?

  77. Hired Goonage

how about pick a readable font rather than an artistic one

  78. Zakk Pritchard

Not a fan of the album it's on but I think this song is pretty good. Not their best but certainly catchy and original. It reminds me of the first time I listened to 1979 and the feeling of nostalgia so I'm glad to say I enjoy this song
