Smashing Pumpkins - Muzzle Lyrics
I fear that I'm ordinary, just like everyone
To lie here and die among the sorrows
Adrift among the days
For everything I ever said
And everything I've ever done is gone and dead
And great loves will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world
My life has been extraordinary
Blessed and cursed and won
Time heals but I'm forever broken
By and by the way...
Have you ever heard the words
I'm singing in these songs?
It's for the girl I've loved all along
Can a taste of love be so wrong
And great loves will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world
And in my mind as I was floating
Far above the clouds
Some children laughed I'd fall for certain
For thinking that I'd last forever
But I knew exactly where I was
And I knew the meaning of it all
And I knew the distance to the sun
And I knew the echo that is love
And I knew the secrets in your spires
And I knew the emptiness of youth
And I knew the solitude of heart
And I knew the murmurs of the soul
And the world is drawn into your hands
And the world is etched upon your heart
And the world so hard to understand
Is the world you can't live without
And I knew the silence of the world

thumbs down for commercial
Siamese dream and Melancholy had so many good songs it's unbelievable. I think in just these two albums there must have been 15-20 legitimate hits. And the rest were really good as well.
I forgot just what a great song this is 💕
I fear that I am ordinary just like everyone
To lie here and die among the sorrows
Adrift among the days

And everything I've ever done is gone and dead
As all things must surely have to end
And great loves will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world

this track was definitely slept on
Me encanta esta canción chingao!
THIS IS THE BEST SONG THE WORLDS EVER HEARD
This is pure badass.
listen to it on 0.5 speed
hahaha yes doing it now
I didn't know this feature existed; this is hilarious. Also the drums coming in at the beginning is pretty sick at 1/2 speed. Back to normal time now....
If that gets your goat then check out "Going Blind" by the Melvins
Most of the Smooth McGroove acapellas are pretty awesome at 1.25 speed, particularly the Tetris theme.
My life has been extraordinary
Blessed and cursed and won
Time heals but I'm forever broken
This songs reminds me of Salt Lake City 1996-1997. College, working, and hanging out all over the place with family and friends, haha. Good times!

Thanks! This is easily my favorite SP song as far as lyrics go. It's just *_perfect_*...one of those rare instant classic songs that couldn't possibly be improved upon. It's both incredibly complex yet poignantly simple...like it was always _meant_ to exist in this world. ;D Though it kills me to no end that I didn't write it. Billy has this uncanny ability to churn out classic songs like it's the easiest thing in the world to do. To say I'm jealous of that would be an understatement... Mellon Collie is such a majestic album, though Siamese Dream definitely beats it imo. Siamese Dream is just beyond perfect. Though...if Mellon Collie was distilled down to the best 10 to 12 songs, it would be on the same level. Then again, I can't imagine cutting any material at this point.
Hell, their first album Gish is damn near perfect too. Not as much an opus as what followed...but it's kinda perfect as a debut album. And Adore is wayyy underrated. As is Machina... And Pices...and the *_mountain_* of b-sides, demos and rarities. One of the main reasons I'm such a huge Pumpkins fan...is the sheer quantity of music, not to mention the quality. I mean, this is a band you can really _delve deep into_ and still find gems years later.
It genuinely blows my mind at how talented creative and goddamn *_prolific_* Billy was back then. I sadly don't hear that same undeniable spark in the new material....but shit, he's already written _several_ lifetimes of incredible music. I can't complain one bit.
J Ellis I got goosebumps reading this. thanks
+avedic No problem...one of my absolute favorites as well. Crazy, considering it is about death...at least to me! "And I knew the silence of the world" is the most chilling line in the whole song, but it's the fate that all things will meet! Either way, yeah, Corgan was a prolific artist and from the very first time I heard them, I was a Smashing Pumpkins fan!
+James Sluzewski Same here...even tears! This song speaks to me more than almost any other song ever has.
J Ellz thank you!
Amo esta rola... Este momento exacto 1:40 rompe la barrera espacio-tiempo; creando un viaje del que no quisiera regresar.
corgan rocks so hard
Love the drums in this song.
I love the drums in every Smashing Pumpkins song
every single one...even lily my one and only.
ugghhh underrated song lol
This is the best album of the 90's for sure and prolly one of the best historically. It really is up there with "The Wall", "Darkside... well any Pink Floyd album lol. But Sgt Peppers, The Doors, Zep IV, ... this is tomorrows Mozart
+Matt C I don't care for Siamese dreams
Erin Brown You ever hear the Pony Express Record by Shudder to Think? very different from MCATIS, but it's definitely an underappreciated gem from the 90s
Eric Brown oh no , that's what made me fall in love with them
avedic thank you, Billy is a true musician . hands down, no questions asked . siamese dream was incredible as well
Pumpkins are awesome,Billy has the most unique voice
This song is so good. I can't believe that I've never heard this before today...the lyrics are nothing short of poetry.
"And I knew the silence of the world"...something about this line stands out and strikes me deeply, and I don't know what it is.
I know the eco that is love.....pure poetry
the best song. never gets old.
Nice name. XD
legend...
I love when that bad ass guitar comes in at 2:28
I love when the bad ass song comes in at 0:00
Clever me.... ;P
This song always moves me to tears. Musical and lyrical fucking genius right here♥.
This was my favorite band when I was 8 years old, and on my tenth birthday I was "old enough" for this album. At age 29, they are still one of my favorites and always will be.
Heh, old enough for an album with a track entitled "Fuck You"
KerayZ Same here. Just turned 30.
Best album ever!
is that ian Mackaye in your avatar?
@ruf1980 Yeah, old man Ian just casually bombing some hill.
Amazing song, great lyrics
When I die, This song will play at my funeral.
+Marc PB amen brother!

Holy crap! This song is about the Flat Earth!
yeah !!!! finally someone had the brilliant idea and to put this video on youtube. This song is awesome !!!
Majestic work of pop music right here. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I just put this on and everything seems to slide back into perspective.
+darthsketch Shit's always bad, but I know I am meant for this world.
