Smashing Pumpkins - Blue Skies Bring Tears Lyrics
Unleash the armageddon
So all the children go to heaven
I sit by quiet still with their pictures on my eyes
You'll draw the guns you're given
Write down the words as written
And it's about time
It's about drawing near
Blue skies bring tears
Blue skies bring tears
Descend the darkened stairways
Make hate with plastic playmates
And fire out remaining traces of your self esteem
Mainline the deepest secrets
Lick clean the dirty fingers
I am a stranger to you as you are to yourself
It's about fear
Blue skies bring tears
Don't you want me
As I awake the city sigh
We'll watch the seasons die
Blue skies bring tears
Take me inside your body
Cover me with your soul
To the darkest recess
Is where I wish to go
You are the sweetest flower
That I have ever devoured
I ask for nothing given
For nothing in return
Blue skies bring tears

Smashing Pumpkins Blue Skies Bring Tears Comments
they say melancholy is happiness for deep people - if that means listening to this album count me in
Am I alone in preferring this, what I consider, the "finished version"?
I remember standing next to my sister's Dad's pool listening to this song......I said it's about fucking time
For me the last SP album.
one of their best songs
@Chris Steinruck Thanks! Must have been during a youtube+ drinking session= oops
Why do a band's less popular albums always have these overly positive comments?!?
Christian Clarke people who are in tune with themselves and unaffected by the shit attempted to be shoved down our throats by money hungry parasites appreciate when an artist creates strictly from their heart
Because this is a high quality album. I think it was too ahead for most of the people when it was released and got a bad reputation that stuck over the years.
One of the best...that bass tone is fucking amazing
I was once a Netphorian
Yep, I used to listen to the MIDI files on there. haha!
I like all the versions.
miss you holly
Pure Vertical Tension.
Yeah Machina II and Arising! versions are way better.
i love this song and album
I don't know why this is considered a bad album, maybe a few not so impressive songs, but SP have never been this experimental in tonality and execution. Machina touches an area that no other SP albums touch, and it really brings an amazing atmosphere from an already amazing band.
This song is easily a great SP song.
what? this album is way better than melloncollie... people are just people... dumb lumps without talent...
I wouldn’t go so far to say it’s better than Mellon Collie, but certainly it’s a masterpiece in it’s own right. Highly underrated.
@ARBIZA power trio I agree actually. This one is only second to Siamese Dream.
This one and Adore are underrated albums. Everything SP did in the 90´s (and 2000) was great. (And Billy Corgan is very underrated guitarist, too...)
blue skies bring tears
@mercurymadhatter There is no deference between the Machina: The Machines Of God and Machina2: The Friends And Enemies Of Modern Music. They were both going to be in a double album but the meddlesome fat cats at Virgin Records said that the songs weren't good enough to be in a double album so they picked the ones that they said were best and put them on Machina: The Machines Of God.
I heard this track tonight from my CD and i liked it so much, that i wish to express to billy and all the pumpkins members at the time of machines of god, my most sincere feelings of thankfullness for creating such beatiful music!!
It has a pyschedelic feeling, and is warm, well recorded, and has it all. It is perfect!!
easily some of Corgans best lyrics
What an under appreciated song...
the pumpkins have so many gems...
Such a beautifully haunting tune...
thanks loved this song first time i heard it
Yeah, thans for posting, though Machina is definitely not a popular Pumpkin album.
