I used to love the Smashing Pumpkins and I still admire much if their (his) work. But my opinion's tainted now I'm afraid after having seen Corgan interviewed several times and realising that alongside his unquestionable talent sits what seems to be an arrogance, pompousness and very controlling nature.


He talks with a knowing mentality, but a bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing, as they say. I much preferred it when I was ignorant to who the band were and all I heard was the music and not the back story or artists.

The only song on the planet that I'm actually certain was written about myself. Had a very bizarre moment with Billy in the latter part of 2008 which I'm under the impression is the catalyst for some of the lyrical concepts. Bastard knows I love a screaming organ solo.

Yeah Jamie I was extremely disappointed to see that myself. Billy needs to take some time after this album to get his streaming catalogue in order so that the entire legacy of the band can be preserved and appreciated.

Gerard Way really does rip Billy off though, not that he can write songs nearly as good or shred on the guitar like this, but Billy's a special dude.

I don't think he rips him off. I think that he does take some influence from Billy Corgan, which isn't really a bad thing, but I think he does his own thing too. I do agree though, Billy is very talented and one of the best songwriters.

Though your statement is true,but a part of it is not right about this song, that guy you are replying to just cant analyze for shit. This song has a William Blake-like feeling about it.
