Because it’s an homage to really straightforward Reggae, but they also realize they can’t really copy the style that well so they exaggerate it and have fun with it.

There is a local radio personality in NE Ohio, named Kenny Roda, and he has been known to use this on his shows as bump music, due to his nickname being " The Road Man" I admit, I really like this song :D

Love this song and love Smash Mouth thank god I'm a 90s kid born in the 90s but wasn't till the new millennium that better music woulda came out and the death of the Boy Bands would end that era and we get the rise of the teen sensations like Aaron Carter and Hiliary Duff as well!

If you listen to the Song closely you can figure the meaning of the Song....   Key words are at end of Song...
