Small Faces - Sha La La La Lee Lyrics
Picked her up on a Friday night
Sha la la la lee, yeah
I knew everything gonna be alright
Sha la la la lee, yeah
Sha la la la lee
I asked her, where do you wanna go?
Sha la la la lee, yeah
Well, we went someplace, I don't know
Sha la la la lee, yeah
Sha la la la lee
I held her close and I asked her
If she was gonna be my baby
It felt so good when she answered me
Oh yeah, oh yeah
She looked good and she moved so fine
Sha la la la lee, yeah
And all the guys knew she was mine
Sha la la la lee, yeah
Sha la la la lee
I held her close and I asked her again
If she was gonna be my baby
It felt so good when she answered me
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah
Wanna know how my story ends?
Sha la la la lee, yeah
Well, we invited just a few close friends
Sha la la la lee, yeah
Sha la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee
Sha la la la la la lee

Loved the Bass on this track....quite easy to follow
NOTE: The first several songs are of The Byrds during their heyday. Then the final 2/3rds are some raw footage of the Small Faces playing live. Great band, RIP Steve Marriott
saw them singing live in the streatham locarno long time ago , really good , loved them then still love them now . So sad the way stevie died , R-I-P peace stevie.
I used to go there back in the 1960's - great place!
Known as the Small Faces because their height ranged from 5'2" to 5'5".
@Jacky J Jones I'm afraid they were.
@Christopher Heath Yeah I know... but just to be sure.... you CAN SEE that the video is squashed right? I mean... just look at the bass drum, it's egg shaped!!
@Jacky J Jones Go look it up on social media if you don't believe me.
@Christopher Heath Look man.. I knew both Steve and Ronnie ok... they weren't fucking midgets!!! It's the fuckwit that put this video together... he had the aspect ratio wrong. There's nothing worse than making short people look even fucking shorter!!!
@Jacky J Jones I've met Chris Farlowe and he was very small (perhaps 5'3", no more). Here's a picture of him standing next to Steve Marriot and he's about five or six inches taller than Steve. https://www.alamy.com/dec-26-2011-chris-farlowe-and-steve-marriott-small-faces-image69512899.html. That makes Marriot less than five feet.
Kenny Lynch RIP he wrote the song and Steve hated him singing on the song
dear Kenny lynch ...I was lucky enough to meet him ...and steve marriot wow what a voice ..surely one of THE best out there ever...period
RIP ❤️😎
The guy who wrote this died today r i p Kenny lynch

See who the jam modelled themselves on
We was so young 😉
Better than the beatles
OH YA 💙IT 💛IT 👍👍✌🦄😎🦄
Some say the lyrics on this mean it can't be the best Small Faces song, but nothing else they recorded captures the excitement of being young and going out on dates quite like this. Brilliant song. Never get sick of hearing it.
This is the music I was played when I was tiny by my Mam and I loved it from the very first time I heard it they sounded so exciting and cool.

Steve Marriot the real Modfather
One of my fave songs.
Steve Marriot was the was the mod father
mr_two_tone yes defo
I was 14. I am now 67. Steve Marriott is still the best rock/soul/pop voice I ever heard.
Then you never heard Stevie Winwood
Steve Winwood's voice is astounding - top five.
Stewart Nicol yes I agree
Ahhh Steve. My fave Small Faces songs are Tin Soldier and Itchycoo Park. The man was too good to be anything but a front man!💖💖💖💖
one of the UK's 60s greatest... underrated gold
Such a shame they didn't like this song. Their manager Don Arden wanted a song like Do Wah Diddy by Manfred Mann and turned to Kenny Lynch and Mort Shuman who wrote this.
.......
I like this song today in 2019 just as much as I did in 1966 when it came out, great faces 60s song I had the original single,

Show off!!
Just heard this on Golden Years Radio . net and all the 60's music that gets played takes me back to the good old days when I had a rock band called The Presidents. Our recording for Decca in 1965 was lost for 53 years and just released in June 2018 and Golden Years has included it in the playlist. Got the old band back together and made a video so it's me 78 miming to me singing 25 - great fun and who knows we might trend : -) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjcKGcM0Rtc Hi Edward please share if you can - thanks

pastor stop acting like an old fart ,,,we are a long time dead however thats just what you sound like ,,,,,,,,
The best band from the 60s. Musically, equalled the Beatles, bettered the Stones, wrote the best rock story in Ogden's Nut Gone Flake. Then Steve Marriott left and Rod Stewart joined the band that powered him into the Rock stratosphere. RIP. Steve, Ronnie and Ian.
far better than the beatles
I know I’m not from this era so please excuse my comment, it’s meant to be a compliment. I honestly believe he was an inspiration for Jack White. This lead singer (sorry don’t know his name, just found them today) is so progressive for his time! Wow!
VirreFriberg wow!! I’ve never heard one Humble Pie song but I’ve heard of them. Is he the singer? I knew Ron Wood was in Faces and Rod Stewart’s band Rod Stewart and The Faces. How interesting! I can see why they remained in the rock scene, they were good. Humble Pie, what song would you suggest for me to listen to, did he write the songs for them too? Oh and thank you!
@Layla Reeves Lead vocals in Humble Pie were carried out by either Greg Ridley, Peter Frampton or Steve Marriott. The tracks were written predominantly by either Frampton or Marriott. For songs, I'd personally recommend "30 Days In The Hole" or "Wrist Job" as I believe these are the tracks where Marriott's vocal talents are apparent.
VirreFriberg I know Frampton! I had no idea he was part of Humble Pie. You know a lot about music from this era, thank you! I’m going to listen to those songs, I’ll let you know my opinion if you’re interested? What happened to the lead singer of Small Faces, was he the guitarist? When I watched him perform live I was blown away by his playing. It seems everyone else in these types of groups were just strumming and he was really playing. I’m a fan of TRex too. My friend had a sister when we were kids who was 15-20 years older than her and she played that album with Metal Garu on it and I fell in love with them. Marc Bolan was already dead by then. Sad. I thought he was so cute lol. Oh sorry, you said Steve was the singer of Humble Pie too. Ignore that part lol
VirreFriberg I just listened to 2 different versions of 30 Days in the Hole live and I’m blown away!!! Wow. Thank you! I’m going to listen to more of Humble Pie. Can I ask you what type of rock they were considered? Was it just straight up Rock? Again thank you for all your information and if you have any other recommendations please feel free to share. I’m an 80’s kid who listened to punk rock like The Clash and The Ramones, but I have an eclectic taste. My son collects albums and I think he would love Humble Pie also.
@Layla Reeves I would categorize Humble Pie as blues rock, hard rock or straight rock and roll. Some of their songs have aspects of psychedelic rock too. As for recommendations I'd recommend The Jam's first two studio albums (In The City and This Is The Modern World) since I found them rather influenced by punk rock. If you have time, you should check out the Small Faces earlier stuff too, song such as "Come On Children" and "You Need Loving" are pretty heavy songs for the era.
Loved this band. I bet they were a right bunch of hard's at school though.
They hated this song but its my favourate
I love these guys!!!!
One of the best singers ever. Great group and songs from the best era.
Wing collars look good on Steve
Steve Marriott little guy with a booming voice seen him with humble pie
