Stunning. The Plants of this world looked on in awe and copied every skill and bit of effort that Lord Marriot wrote! What a band. I wish they'd stuck it out and there'd been no Humble Pie - they were fucking appalling and their legacy is the Small Faces' piss poor booze afterbirth. Utterly rebarbative! The Faces were ok but not as disciplined in songwriting and performance as the 'Small' version! They were on it!

One of the greatest bands ever. it was 65 to 69 and no one else came even close, except Floyd and anything Winwood had anything to do with.

Did the BBC ban this just because of the supposed implications of the expression "make it" (taking it the way it was used in "Lovely Rita, I guess)? That must have meant more over there than it did here in the USA; that same year, the Pozo Seco Singers had a minor hit with "I can make it with you" (later covered by Crispien St. Peters??), which was most likely performed at the LBJ ranch. Bread had a hit with "I want to make it with you." a few years later. Always fascinating to see what gets banned where and why.

BBC banned this song because of inappropriate lyrics (sexual undertone) - but they didn't see anything wrong in" Here Come the Nice" - it's funny and unbelievable!
