From what I've heard of Slowdive, this song sounds the closest (sort of) to My Bloody Valentine, particularly the opening guitar bit.

There is no single Slowdive song I don't like, but this one is very special for some reason. I want to hug this song, or it hugs me when I listen to it. It feels like home in a way that nothing else does, like I can lose myself in it and feel safe, wrapped up by an infinite warmness.

When I was listening to the album's first half, for the first time, it almost made me cry, especially this song. I wasn't even paying attention to the lyrics (mostly because english is not my first language and I was playing something in my ps2) but I felt that, musically, it had so much emotion and sadness, different from every sad song I knew until that moment. One of the most impactful albums I've ever heard and for sure, one of my favorites

superb... Old Trout in the early-90's with The Cranes.
I am truly shocked there are two dislikes.

+Jonathan Frankham I loved the Cranes!! Alison Shaw's voice really goes well with the bands guitars. I have like four or five albums, but kinda stopped after Future Songs. Loved the epic cosmic sounds of Starblood, all the guitar work in Loved & Forever; especially Jewel, Shining Road, Bewildered, Come This Far etc.

My regret is not buying the Slowdive albums in the 90s as I live in Malaysia, and they weren't in my radar until now.

Omg, I love Slowdive so much. This is my favourite song from Soulvaki. So emotional. If you like this song, you should check out Knowing It's The End by Vapour Night. Very dark and haunting and noisy...yet beautiful and dream-inducing at the same time. Best shoegaze song I've heard in a while.
