Sloan - The Rest Of My Life Lyrics
I started thinkin' 'bout the rest of my life
I found myself just lookin' out for trouble and strife
Someone with whom I'd spend the rest of my days
But if I ever said I wasn't settin' my ways
Well then I guess you caught me lying to myself
What kind of fool doesn't think about it
You'd have to be a fool not to think about it
Am I
Gonna settle down
Am I gonna be
Someone who has to take the rest of my life
To settle down
Well I guess you caught me lying to myself
We'll make a man outta me
One thing I know about the rest of my life
I know that I'll be living it in Canada
I know I said I'll share the rest of my days
But I was only going through a phase
Am I
Gonna settle down
Am I gonna be
Someone who has to take the rest of my life
To settle down
Well I guess you caught me lying to myself
What kind of fool doesn't think about it
What kind of fool doesn't think about it
You have to be a fool not to think about it
Am I
Gonna settle down
Am I gonna be
Someone who has to take the rest of my life
Am I
Gonna settle down
Am I gonna be
Someone who has to take the rest of my life
To settle down
Well I guess you caught me lying to myself

Sloan The Rest Of My Life Comments
I like sloan. They weren't one trick ponies and did lots of different styles in the alternative-indie sphere of things.
I am a Canadian who lived in L.A. in the 90's working in the film industry. At that time, Sloan played at a club there and when, during this song, they sang " I know that I'll be living it in Canada" the whole crowd screamed. I never knew how many Canadians were in L.A. Great song.
Right when he said i know that ill be living in Canada!! The best ever lol ;)
The perfect pop song.
Still my favourite song. Love these guys!
Fuck nickel back Sloan is way better
Fantastic song! I loved it the first time I heard it on the radio.
Action Pact is when the decline began. This song in particular rubs me the wrong way. It's totally a color-by-numbers Sloan song that sounds completely mailed in. And the line about "I know that I'll be living it in Canada" is a cringeworthy attempt to create a cheap sing-along moment for concerts.
Fuck off.
@CanadianMusic&TV It's a great line! Sorry for loving my country and its music!
I dont see the Canada reference as a bad thing, it's just simple marketing, their primary audience is Canadian, so they give a little shout out to the audience.
A pop band creating a catchy chorus to singalong to...the nerve of them😉
Murph! You're the only one that could pull that off and it looks rad man!! After all these years, still fucking cool. Sloan is the tightest band to come from these beau provinces. God bless them.
Ha I love that the guitars are unplugged
Fuck i love this band!!!
Holy shit! I haven't heard this song in literally decades and now I'm crying.
I just saw them live and Chris still uses the same bass that he's had for twenty plus years.
Don't know how much more proud I could be of the east coast because of these guys!
is Sloan the best band from north America in the past 20 years? respond below
canada, yeah i’d say, but north america? no
@Colin Clayton im fine them being a hidden Gem...
@E Johnson can you believe that they didn't bow to the corporate music machine that promote music ? well that has a lot to do with their lack of success in USA
They legitimately might be. I’m American too. Might be most underrated band of all time. I got so many people in Phoenix,AZ listening to them I’m actually proud of myself. Folks who didn’t grow up near the border have almost no clue how much incredible music they have missed out on.
cant forget sam roberts, odds, the lions and big sugar
I love the 1:33-1:35 part with their glasses. cute
fuck this band, and you too
This song deserves more views. Love Sloan.
Good old Sloan. As Canadian as it gets. Love your music guys, since 1992.
Best album.. Navy Blues!
Disappointing that there aren't more likes. Good song on the deck in the summer.
Such an amazing song. Looking forward to what comes after Commonwealth.
