Slayer - Killing Fields Lyrics
You know the feeling
When adrenaline takes control
Can't beat the rush
That leaves a suicidal hold
Destroying the human heart
The taste of blood
Can rip your soul apart
Devils that drive us
Do not discriminate
A state of mind
That becomes the ultimate end
Action reaction
To the depth of human nature
Inside of me and you
A sociopath with empty eyes
and no soul
Paranoid psychotic heart of stone
My blood runs cold
Evils of passion
Can drive reason to extremes
Love, hate and murder
Temporary insanity
On the edge of a
Demented personality
Emotional
Pain is a deadly reality
A sociopath with empty eyes
and no soul
Paranoid psychotic heart of stone
My blood runs cold
A choice is made of free will
Just like the choice to kill
Decisions to lose control
My self-destructive rationale
A choice is made, made of free will
Just like the choice, the choice to kill
In the speed of a moment
Life stands still now you're standing in my killing field
A choice is made of free will
Just like the choice to kill
In the speed of a moment
Life stands still now you're standing in my killing field

This Bostaph song > all Lombardo's slayer career
If I WAS A Wrestler this would be my entry song....
That very first second of this song changed my life forever.
There is no better melody, to lay waste the enemies of a free republic too... all hail Slayer !!!!
*THE END HAS COME. THE FINAL CAMPAIGN COMES TO A CLOSE TONIGHT. ROT IN HELL SLAYER! YOU FUCKING EARNED IT!*
Beast mode engaged at 0:40
Playing COD and rocking out!
If you dont headbang during that intro you have a problem.
FAVOURITE!
The last great Slayer album.
Best drummer ever
What do people dislike about the mix of this album?
coldwar1977
It just sounds so weird and muffled
Even Dave Lombardo said the drumming on this album is really technical.
Lombardo isn’t really a technical drummer, but he’s very fast and hard hitting. Basically a punk drummer on steroids.
@Jimmy Drums that's true.
Mandatory suicide is better
I always preferred Lombardo over Bostaph but I gotta tell Paul is a fucking machine in this album
Killing song but killerestest drumming. PB 🙌
I STILL LOVE LOMBARDOS PLAYING MORE// BOSTAPH IS A FUCKING BEAST
PAUL BOSTAPH HAD SOME BIG SHOES TO FILL// HE HAS SAID HE IS A HUGE LOMBARDO FAN!!
He said his two biggest influences were Lars and lombardo.
@russkate88 IMHO LARS IS NOT IN LOMBARDO'S LEAGUE// BUT IF BOSTAPH LIKES HIM THAT'S COOL// PAUL IS A BEAST BUT I WILL ALWAYS THINK OF LOMBARDO WHEN SLAYER IS THE TOPIC.
ShiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiT YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best Slayer song.
sub par version - dont share shit
Its just as well i dont drive
Cold meaty chunks of smithmenship at its heaviest
Fucking killer album!
One Iron métal cross for Slayer from France.
Untouchable album. Progressive dark aggressive as fuck. The peak of Slayer imo. Earlier albums seem to lack this level of intensity and conviction despite the "unique" mix
Fuck yeah FUCK YEAH!!!!
I beat a man to death while listening to this! Watch what you say to someone you don't know
Guitar rock does a body good
and the cow too the CAF
I saw the band on this tour in 1995 at the international ballroom in Atlanta excellent show
Great song. Paul Bostaph is man
Bostaph is a god on this album! Heil!
Slayer. It isn't listening to music. It is a way of life. Seasons was my first album. And each and every album before and after that are great....Hail Slayer.

Paul Bostaph is savage
Oh, hey. That was pretty heavy. :)
Hell yeah baby!
This is my favorite song
I remember walking into my local book store at this time and seeing a metal mag saying "Slayer returns to blow the grunge off the ceiling!".
Double bass
기! - 승! - 전! - 결!
완벽한 노래임!!!(팩트)
I was born in 94
worth listenning
Paul.... best drummer slayer has ever had by a mile !!!!
From slayer,but never like hellhammer
I wouldnt say "by a mile", Dave is no small time drummer, and his input was equally important to the formula, Paul can play Dave stuff, but not like Dave and Dave could play Paul stuff, but not like Paul.
Overall I think Dave is my favorite of the two, but Paul is amazing in his own right too.
The time to strike is not at hand it's now!
hail Satan 666 i ve fourteenwhen this moment was born take my blood Satan

Divine Intervention is one of my all time favorite albums from any band
Hello again!
Tom sounds like a sociopath with empty eyes and no soul In this song
Best drum sound ever! Heavy as fuck and sounds like cannons blasting!
1:01
that riff is so "PROG!!!!".......
0:40 riff :D AWESOME!
slayer is my religion and now i m go to church with this awsome song
My friend who introduced me to Slayer, would refer to their albums as the gospel, and attending their shows as going to church, and mosh pitting as an invocation of the divine spirit. He saw them well over 20 times.
Best slayer song. One of their best solos and their best riffs in my opinion.
Bostaph Boi
Temazo de SLAYER!!!
BEST. SONG. EVER.
un disco que esta la raja una joya un tema clasico jajajaja
Paul Bostaph omg!
I'm always 've been fascinated by these "broken drum rythm" 1:33 so tricky to follow...
Marc Marti its pretty straight forward actually
Watch this video with Bostaph. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HrOepZiFO0
Paul Bostaph is the guy
this song with battlefield 1 goes killer
Horrible mixing but arguably their greatest song! Kerry with yet another masterpiece!
That really sucks about Jeff.
Tom's heavy bassline at 2:35+
God is dead I am alive
A sociopath with empty eyes and no soulparanoid psychotic heart of stone my blood runs COLD !!!!
THIS CRAP
The drummer went fucking crazy in this song.

Achtung, Kissenger, Jude!!!! Achtung... suites marketing executives, bankers, pregnant women

thin ze herd
every morning with a cup of coffee. makes for a great day!
0:00-0:35 is complete fucking eargasm!!
What do you think this song is about?
+skydd x yeah I agree. It was Pot Pol that ruled north Vietnam and slautered a million people. There's even a movie called The Killing Fields.
King is big into infamous history so I gather its Khmer Rogue mass murder. But why would you say Woodstock? Was it first performed there or something?
+Forever Free Yes, the song was first performed at either the 1969 Woodstock or the 1999 Woodstock. The legal credit of 1994, when the album came out, is just a fiction set up by lizard people. :P (I think the suggestion of Woodstock was sarcastic).
Thanks for the replies and the info. I had just finished reading about the Khmer Rogue when I commented. I want to go for a 'holiday in Cambodia'.
Dead kennedys! Jeff's favorite!
this song fucking kicks ass!!R. I.P Jeff!!!
Mix is not great, but Bostaph nailed it on this one.
Bob Fk really lol.
SLAYERRRRRRRRRR
1'00'' !!!
Thank you for putting the lyrics on the description :D
one of the best slayer tracks ever
Best Slayer album.
Totally agree very overlooked track compared to others
One of the things i LOVE about Slayer is that Tom doesn't growl or do gutter voices and black screams. He shouts the lyrics with intensity. I think that takes much more skill and it pumps you up
Chuck Billy does both, plus sings. What you said is very subjective. Chuck Billy being a more naturally talented vocalist is objective, as he can do it all. Same could be said for Phil Anselmo.
@Vincent for sure, though it all boils down to proper technique, and such. Both styles of singing can present challenges when done poorly and with bad technique, a well versed Death Metal vocalist with the proper technique is not as hard to pull off, its when someone who doesnt have that understanding does it poorly and causes problems with their vocals I worry more about.
Both screaming vocals and death metal vocals present their own challenges. Yelling is easy, yelling with proper technique to not yell for the sake of telling is another story though.
@cdsmetalhead99 Yep. Have someone try to emulate Craig Pillard (Incantation, Disma) or the black metal band Katharsis (whose lead singer is probably legitimately insane) and come back and tell me that gutter vocals or black metal shrieks aren't difficult. They will come back with a different perspective if they think it's easy.
He has punk style
But when he does his melodic singing its just out of this world man

Slayer kick some ass the best one I like the three albums south of heaven he's in the abyss raging and blood
